Wars going on all over will always affect our hobby. If somehow we end up like we did in 2018 again, buy it cheap, stack deep. Just the cost of living has kicked our butts lately.
The short seek stakes are obvi made for weight savings. I’ve broken 30% of mine.
I’m not packing it on my back either, so I just replaced them with 8” spikes.
I remember that thread, pretty great ideas in there. Does the bolt ever unlock itself when fired? Seems unlikely.
I’m definitely going to use the sfar for my cow tag, if I can go.
I weighed this old .308 dpms once. The scope/rings are steel IOR stuff. Heavy.
That gun weighed 11 lbs loaded...
Last time I got access in Colorado I traded electrical work for it. You have to find the ranches that do not lease their property, I only stumbled upon access cause I was renting a room from the rancher while doing a job nearby. Good luck man, it is hard to come by.
It would be easy to find, but they are not the same idiots that painted the trees. The painter hit those a few years ago.
I’m pretty easy to get along with, unless you set up camp on top of me when there were plenty of better spots all over, or start spray painting trees.
Yeah the jackasses hit about every 10th tree. It is BS but I probably won’t paint over it. Enough damage already and I would need 3 colors to hide the aspens they painted.
Heard from a friend up there my neighbors broke their receiver hitch on the SxS from overloading the basket carrier halfway out. Supposedly left the hitch basket carrier next to the trail. Trash people. Same type as the ones who think flagging tape is not enough.
Ray Charles could follow the...
I heard their gas saw from a mile out, figured something was up. Sounded like it was coming from my camp. Also figured that would run the elk off, but just yesterday my guy still in camp had a great encounter with a 5x and couldn’t close the deal. 800 yards from camp.
An elec chain saw is in...
We have a great spot. Hunt most days from the tent. Elk are everywhere, yet nowhere. Great season about to wrap up. We park trucks 7 miles away and get in with SxSs. Road is brutal, impassable to jeeps and larger unless someone saws a log out. Big rocks in front of the machine make it a...
They could have taken any other excellent spots, run the genny and I wouldn’t have cared. But right on top of us in a remote empty area is BS. If I had been in camp when they showed up they would have been educated.
That’s the Texans tent 88 yards away.
Leave the dam generator at home please.
It was bad enough when we came back from being hunting all day to find a camp 88 yards away, despite them having passed at least 6 better empty places. Really, no one else within 4 miles. Then right before dark the...
Go on a taco forum if someone here doesn’t know. My Tundra takes regular chains easily on the rear, front was a no go.
And learn the traction control nanny crap. The tundra was “confused” and pretty much in limp mode till I shut off all the nanny crap.
