Also have the k3 internal stash pocket and the k3 lid straps to add. Don't need those either.

WTB Exo K3 1800 Bag only

Still looking? Have exactly what you are looking for. I did not use it, came as part of a package deal, have no need for it. Looks like it was lightly used if at all, 2nd pic shows only sign of use I can find.

Advice on a used truck 25-30k

None in particular, I'd even go used back a few years. Just want the 6.2 sohv V8. Don't have any confidence in the current half tons in satisfying my requirements and desires for reliability, longevity and ease of maintenance like the 08-21 tundras did. So gotta go 3/4 ton now it seems, since...

Advice on a used truck 25-30k

Yeah, hear you on that. I do pretty OK with the iForce at around 16.4 mpg over the last 40k miles. If I had to buy new now it would definitely be an F250 6.2 gas. Never would get a new twin turbo tundra.

Advice on a used truck 25-30k

Another thing. All the new Ford 5.0 V8s in F150s have cylinder deactivation (2020+). Its not the same design as Chevrolet, but it still will cause issues with longevity and reliability. I took a huge deep dive on the topic. That killed any prospect of a new F150 for me.

Frames and diffs. Enough to make the quality of the coating everywhere else questionable.

Advice on a used truck 25-30k

Does it have to be a crew cab? Tundra extended cab is the roomiest of the 4 brands (not counting Nissan) 100K miles isn't anything for a tundra if it was maintained. Id buy one up to 220K miles if it had meticulous maintenance records, and have no reservations about it going 220k more. A new...

    Hogs

That is super cool. I have never seen piglets before myself, I really want to. I understand the culinary appeal but I would never shoot one personally.

    Hogs

Love hunting pigs in FL. Still hunt and stalk style. Don't get the numbers that trappers do but seeing them plowing and trudging along through the swamp just doing their thing is like nothing else. Can be very smart or very dumb. Had boars and sows. Actually is how I got started hunting, don't...

If you were just starting out what pack would you buy?

Barney's are aluminum, not CF. I love my K3 with its aluminum frame. CF is just way too flexy with heavy and awkward loads in my experience, even if limited.

Packing meat in trail running shoes?

That is very interesting Larry. Mine have spent a significant if not majority of their service in my hands (feet?) soaking wet, no issues to speak of so far. Obviously I cannot discount their experiences, all I know is what I have seen myself.

    AR hunters

I don't own one but most likely will. Most of my hunting is out east so prefer to have that second shot ready immediately for the pigs I have been hunting. I don't personally buy the reliability argument over a bolt gun. Design wise, yes absolutely fair point. Practically speaking? They have...

Packing meat in trail running shoes?

One solution nobody mentioned was to look at modern combat boots, Danners Rockys etc they are lighter than a full on book and feel more like a running shoe but have a pretty remarkable amount of ankle support for what they are. I have packed 100lb loads through some pretty uneven (albeit flat...

    Pack upgrade

Have a K3, been loaded way past 100, love it. I would personally spring for a K3 over a K4 b/c the K3s use aluminum for the frame stays, the K4s use carbon fiber. I had a really bad experience with a Mystery Ranch that really pushed me away from CF for any sort of pack frame, unless it's just...

Anyone Own The Chevy 1500 3.0 Duramax?

Glad your buddy got such good usage out of it! I cannot say for certain but I would expect the oil pump belt issue is a question of both time and mileage. For my uses and needs I would much prefer getting a different vehicle and running it until it returns to the earth or simply can't drive...

Anyone Own The Chevy 1500 3.0 Duramax?

I really heavily considered this truck but went with gas instead for flexibility in trip length (lotta short trips with modern diesels really plugs then up, regens etc), Chevrolet as a brand is pretty bad, and also the oil pump belt. Just a cost cutting measure, nothing more. There's a reason...

    Grundens vs Helly Hansen Raingear

Have had both, like them both but prefer HH for Bibs b/c they come with a front pocket, that makes them a lot more versatile for me on fishing trips where I use them most
