The winter kill was bad in 2G1, probably over 30%. My hunting partner was hauling dead deer out of the yard that had bedded and never got up again. The trail cam pics this year are way down on the numbers compared to previous years and we haven't gotten an old bruiser on camera yet. The old...
Let us know what Weatherby says about the rifle, working with a 2.0 steel 280AI with 150gr Sierra Gamechangers and RL16 but its not showing much promise. Going to load up some 150 Scenars and H4831, if it doesn't group those well then something is off. Trijicon 3-18x44 FFP scope, TSP rings on...
Great write-up Annabelle! Congratulations on persevering through the toughest of times, memories made with your Dad, great friends (including the goats) and a great trophy!
Well done!
Good info on the IMR4350 with 140’s.
I’ve had good accuracy with RL17 with 145gr Speer Grand Slams but my initial tests with 140gr Partitions isn’t as good. I may try IMR 4350 if I can locate some, only have H4350.
if you change your mind, I’ve had good luck with the Fenwick HMG travel rods with two different tip sections. If you want to take a hands on look, let me know as we are both in NW Florida.
If these stocks don’t have the aluminum bedding block, is the fore end stiff enough to handle a bipod without the stock flexing into the barrel?
Really want one of these in 6.5x284 on the long action as I’m already loading for a Savage LRH, I may call and see if they would make one up. The LRH...
I’m in for at least one.
If you can perfect an extended OAL 223 mag I imagine you could sell a bunch. If this has already been done, someone please point me in the right direction.
I have been using the FL North Branch pants for the past two seasons, took a deer last week while wearing them from a treestand on a very quiet evening. I am careful in my movements with them as they are a bit noisy. In regards to washing and quieting down, hard to really tell without a new...
The Woodbury and North Branch were designed for different purposes. The North Branch is a non-insulated soft shell designed for breathability and seems very durable busting through brush. Do a search on my name and you can find some of my thoughts on the North Branch and a bunch of other First...
I saw the sale this morning when I pulled the site up as the wife and I were talking about windproof jackets, placed an order at 5:30 CST, e-mail came out at 7am!
Ordered the Peloton 240 for myself and my wife as well as the Peloton t-shirt, all in brown. Will use these this fall hunting as...
The illuminated #60 reticle is awesome, ability to adjust the intensity of the small dot visible from dark to full sunlight. Zeiss glass is something to behold...running one in 2.5-10x50 FL and I run mine at 5-7x most of the time. Folks, this a superb optical instrument and has HT glass vs FL...
First Lite & Other Gear Report - Part 3 (PA & AL)
This is the third installment of my First Lite apparel report, I've also added some comments on other gear I used. And to be clear, I am not affiliated in any way with First Lite or any other manufacturer for that matter. I also used and...
I definately won't be wearing the Kanabs through the nasty stuff as I'm sure they will shred or tear but I'm not sure they were designed for bushwacking. Heck, most everything I have gets tore up to some degree going through the thick stuff in 'Bama!
