Thanks Reaper! It does look like the stove is kind of in the entry way.
The Octopeak I'm considering has two doors, so that would give some more options with the stove.
Appreciate the feedback. I've got a couple Seek Outside shelters and I believe they use a #8 YKK on the 6-man tipi, and an even heavier #11 YKK on the 12-man. They are a beefy zipper.
So I was looking hard at the Luxe Octopeak 6P. Looks to be fairly close to the Cimarron in size, but with a...
The Helinox Ground Chair is pretty nice also. The base is kind of low, but the way it's designed it doesn't sink into the ground. Easiest way to get in/out of it is to put your fist on the ground bedside it, and pivot down/in, or up/out.
Looks like a lot for the price, tipi, nest, pole. But no stove jack option.

I have a Silvertip. This Mountainsmith tipi looks to be roughly the same in floor size, but taller (57" vs 68").
I'm guessing the MS tipi is made overseas, so...
The Cimarron half-nest fits the Redcliff as a 1/3 nest. You could put a Cim half-nest in each end of a Redcliff, and have the middle 1/3 open for your stove.
I'm not sure on the small stove. It would have a long pipe to radiate more heat, but the 12-man has quite a large volume of space compared to a smaller shelter.
On the Seek Outside website they list recommended stove sizes for the different shelters, that might be a good guide.
We have a Seek Outside 12-man. I believe the Kifaru 12 man is actually bigger than the SO-12.
Anyhoo, here's a few pics of the SO-12 with two full size cots on one side. A table, woodpile, and dog bed on the other side.
No, because it's just the wife and I. We did start off with a 4-man, but it seemed a little smallish to stand up in (I'm 6'3') so we did sell the 4, and buy a 6.
If we're near the truck, the 12 is always available if we really want to spread out.
I usually put the Silvertip shelter in my day pack. And a stove to make something hot. It's fast to put up and get's you out of the wind and precip.
Also an insulated bibs/parka for serious cold.
I shoot some of the 215 Bergers over RL-17 in 30-06.
54.0 gr gives 2650 fps from a 22.5" barrel.
I just use them for long range shooting, rocks, steel.
I moly'd the bullets. With RL17 I got a little bolt stiffness at 55.0 gr, and 2700 fps.
Tried 4000-MR, bolt stiffness at 61.0 gr, and...
I had a SO 4-man tipi made of the 70d fabric, and the 10 panel design. I realized I could have a 30d 6-man tipi for the same weight, and significantly more room. So I sold the 4 and bought a 6.
I understand the current 4-man tipi is an 8-panel design and 30d fabric, so it is significantly...
The SO Large is only 4 oz heavier than the Medium. The extra length on the Large makes firewood processing a little easier, and longer burn time.
In my opinion, the only reason to go with the smaller of the two stoves is if 4 ounces of weight savings is that important to you.
On the pipe...
Well the tent cooled down of course, but we were warm in our bags.
Being an old Marine, we are using the current (?) military sleeping bag system. It's essentially two bag system plus a goretex bivy.
