Unit 50 is a lot of high desert sage country with a few hills/mountains and mesas in it and a lot of canyons.
Rattlers could be out in the flats and canyons but once you head up hill there should be fewer to think about. Just watch your step and for sure ahead of you if crawling. There can be...
Welcome!
I'm just a couple miles north of you if you're at Cannon. And a lot more if at Holloman!
Enjoy the forum. There's a great group of people here.
Rutting Caribou...... Like nothing else.....5x worse than any rutting elk.
I'm still trying to eat it but have to cook it when the wife and kids aren't home, and still have to cook it outside! I'm going to try to eat it though since I shot it and brought it home from Alaska but will not offer...
I've worn Wescos for over 20 years. Absolutely love them! The pair I wear most I got about 10 years out of before being rebuilt and now have 4 years on the rebuild. I don't wear them as often as I used to due to my job being in a vehicle most of the time but I'll still wear them a week straight...
Are your pins .010 or .019?
I have the platinum 8 housing with the fixed .019 pins and one .010 floater. The bigger fixed pins seem to be plenty bright but the smaller pin with its separate gathering housing is to dim. I called and they are more than happy to switch out the fiber to a larger...
Looks like I saw this a little late it looks like but you did the right thing imo.
I got the 8 pin housing with 3 fixed and a .10 floater last year for my Helium 6. The sight is really nice with all the features of a fixed pin and single pin setups. Only problem I had was mentioned above. The...
Day 1 in the books.
Leupold is showing a VX6 without illumination that's lighter and cheaper. I'm looking at in depth tomorrow. Also they mentioned a VX8!
Nosler introduced a 33 Nosler but the hot thing at their booth was a 22 Nosler. Claims of 3350 fps in a carbine ar with a 55gn bullet...
I'll be there for the first three days then to the sheep show. Hope to run into some of the Rokslide crew somewhere in the frenzy!
Looks like First Lite has a new pattern out. Can't wait to check it out.

Finally a solution for those of us that have to run a protective case and don't want to take it off to digisope. Thanks Novagrade!

My three favorites:
1: Peloton 240 zip hoodie. I've never liked hoodies but this has become my most worn Kuiu item. It is great for chilly days hunting or around town.
2: Bino harness. I would like to compare to AGC. Might have to order one and try it but for the last couple years the Kuiu...
What is the feeling in the oil and gas industry if she wins?
Will it be suppressed for a lot longer due to increased regulations here keeping the oil coming mostly from abroad?
Thank everyone for their input. I have several theories of what will happen in NM and the southwest but don't have any local knowledge of Alaska politics.
I'd like to think little will change but then again her husband did get some big changes made while he was in the Oval Office.
We are...
Just curious what the members thoughts are on what will happen socially, economically etc if Clinton wins.
Not worried about the test of the world just specifically AK.
Let the dung fly!

Oh and just to show I'm not an internet search advice giver we have 6 diesel trucks on the ranch right now with about 830,000 miles combined on them. One 04 chevy and the rest 07-15 Dodges.

The newer automatics are really coming along in the towing arena. Put it in tow mode with the exhaust brake on and sometimes have to push the gas pedal to go down hill. They are really good at holding back some weight.

Wow, a lot of questions about the 67000 mile break even. I think I assumed 3-4 grand for engine difference in a used truck at the time. Another grand in delete kit with tuner. I do an oil change at about 10,000 miles avg and figured a gas would be at half that and half the cost so they equal...
Get the Diesel!
I bet you'll be happier in the long run and they don't cost that much more.
New Cummins oil changes are recommended every 15k miles so only a couple a year for most people. DEF is about $12 every 4k miles so that's less than $100 a year. Fuel will run a little more than gas but...
This morning I woke to some awesome scenery as the clouds rolled in and out of the mountains and sun peaked through in places.
After the storm last night imade the decision not to go to spoke camp today and let it dry out some first. Climbing and sleeping in mud just doesn't sound smart. The...
I dozed off a couple times when it slowed but not long each time. Around 130 the wind picked up even more and the saturated ground lost grip of one tent stake so that side started flapping. I speed on my boots and crawled out to beat it back in. As soon as that one was secure the two up wind...
