Turkeys and everything else! This is the world we live in now. It’s probably as much a good thing as bad though. Depends on how you look at it. I go from being irritated at hot spotting and people trying to be internet famous to being grateful we have the numbers of people to help fight the...
Don’t get too crazy about buying and trading thinking there’s going to be a magic one that will be “the one” The grounds pro super mag is pretty much the ground zero of what all other goose calls came from. Get one and PRACTICE! Practicing will eliminate the Goldilocks factor and get you to a...
More animals get killed in “budget” clothing than any other scenario. The percentage of people wearing top end gear vs budget is extremely swayed in the budget direction. I would have no reservations whatsoever using the wranglers for hunting. I do commercial construction and wore them all...
I’ve replied to this thread already, but to beat the dead horse ANYONE looking for a decent headlamp would be silly not to add a Sofirn or two to their lineup. For the price it’s crazy not to. If so inclined, adding a fenix or nitecore, zebra, peax, ect is also a great idea and for some might...
I work outside for a living and own several pairs. Wear them most everyday throughout the winter. For the price they’re a no brainer. They are what I recommend to my guys. There’s definitely days they’re too thin but when your active they’re pretty close to just right as Goldilocks would say 😂
I’m going to be the minority and tell you to skip the double reed and commit to learning on a single reed. I’ve never been one for using training wheels to get started (all three of my boys learned to ride a bike by the time they were 4 without them) I’m partial to an Echo timber. I’ll also give...
I’m a huge fan of the Sofirn for the price. Don’t think I’d spend the extra money for a Peax. If I’m spending that kind of money I’m getting a fenix or nitecore
I’ve been a pretty serious waterfowler for a long time. Sitka is great gear. But I’d never pay 500 for that jacket. Yes you can absolutely get something for much less that gets the job done more than good enough. Common sense and a little research can save people a lot of money. I save most of...
Another vote for 6 shot, 40 is doable but not recommended. TSS seems a bit silly for rabbits, maybe if I was targeting snowshoes or something. Definitely not for cottontail or jacks.
If you’re looking for grouse either would be sufficient. Do you have a good bird dog? This will make a huge difference. I’d bring fishing gear along as well. Lots of places to explore around strawberry and current creek. Decent amounts of birds and roads all throughout the area.
