I think the Kuiu sleeping bags are a good bag at 30% off flash sale prices. Just used their 15 degree bag on a South Dakota trip with temps down to 19 and was pretty comfortable. Their shoulder circumference is reported as 64” which is still bigger than many, but tight on my shoulders. I...
I mixed the Silnet with odorless mineral spirits to get a thin syrup consistency, then applied to seams with a one-inch foam brush. Saw this on YouTube and it worked good. Seems like it took less than 2 hours to finish my 8-man.
My son is 8 and I got him the Deuter Fox 40 as well. With the adjustable frame he should be able to use it for several years. Seems like a pretty decent pack.
I picked up the Avail when they came out last year, and so far I really like this pack. It has replaced my Badlands Superday. Used it last year as a daypack for mule deer hunting in SD, and also for TN whitetails. It's comfortable and simple, yet has plenty of interior pockets for...
I wear 7 5/8 - 7 3/4 hats and recently picked up a Peleton 240 beanie in the largest size available. Seems to fit my big head fine, but I haven't had a chance to field test it yet.
Nice! I wondered if anyone had requested just one screen to save a little weight. Also, with only one screen and without liners that would get it down to around 4 lbs 12 oz. if my math is correct, that's only 1 lb more than a Cimmaron with stove jack, stakes and carbon pole.
Looking for a relatively lightweight setup for me and my son to do some hiking and camping. Most hiking trips will be 10 miles or less total over a 2 -3 day trip. Can't decide between the Cimmaron and 4 man. Looks like the Cimmaron with stakes, stove jack and carbon pole is going to run...
I'm no expert and haven't shot at that distance before, but I have definitely noticed changes in POI and pressure with 30 degree temperature changes. It varies depending on the temperature sensitivity of different powders. I have a load for a 300 wsm that shots great at cooler temps, but above...
I'm 6'2 and about 240 lbs. For Kuiu, I wear a 38 in the Attacks and Tiburon pants. My chest measurement is about 49" and I wear an XXL in Kuiu jackets and tops. The FL stuff I have is mostly XL with the exception of their Llano top which I wear in XXL.
That HPG stove pictured above looks like a great design. I've heard they were developing a mid-size as well, but when I check their website it appears they haven't had any stoves in stock for quite some time.
