What am I missing? (November - Colorado)

Yeah there's no doubt. Gear costs add up like crazy! I'm sure you'll be fine. You could also consider getting some lower profile foot beds for when it's cold to give you more volume in your boot so you can wear the thicker socks without compressing your feet as much. Or even insulated foot beds...

    Trekking pole baskets...on or off?

I keep them on. Mine have a smaller diameter basket for normal conditions and a larger basket for snow. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

What am I missing? (November - Colorado)

You just never know how cold it's going to get. I guess if it got too cold you could always hike back to your cabin. My buddy and I made the mistake of staying out in really cold temps and I didn't get all the feeling back in my toes for almost 6 months. Lucky nothing worse happened. That was...

What am I missing? (November - Colorado)

This for sure. A neck gaiter or balaclava make a big difference for keeping warm when the temps drop. As for gloves, that depends a lot on how cold your hands get. My hands and feet get cold really easily. I've got a bunch of different gloves. I like the Kuiu Yukon Pro because they're waterproof...

    10x42 vs 10x50

I have the Razor 12x50s. They are the same size as the 10x50. They will fit in my large Kuiu bino harness but it's pretty much stretched to the end. I picked up the XL harness and I think it will be better but I haven't tried it other than putting them in there once. Sent from my...

    New brand of clothing questions...

I must have missed them at the expo. That's what I get for bringing the wife and kids with me I guess! I am surprised they wouldn't jump at the chance to get on Rokslide and get gear in the hands of the staff for review. That's got to be one of the better ways to get your name out there. Sent...

    New brand of clothing questions...

Another new company that looks interesting is SKRE Extreme Mountain Gear. I have not seen it in person though. They are also based in Utah. Seems like a lot of new hunting clothing companies popping up. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

    New brand of clothing questions...

Core 4 elements marina wool clothing?

I have a bunch of C4E merino as well as Kuiu, a couple First Lite pieces and Sitka. The C4E pieces are nice but the others have the edge imo. But for the money the C4E are great. The last couple of shirts I picked up though had a much looser fit in the body and the length wasn't great. So they...

    Kifaru vs Kuiu frame

I haven't had any squeaking with my Ultra or Icon Pro packs. I also don't have any concern about the frame breaking. It seems solid to me. It's nice that they continue to improve with the new even stronger frame. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

    Best Mountain Bowhunting Pant?

I would not consider the Kuiu pants loud. I wear them bow hunting and they've been great. I don't think they're any louder than my Sitka Timberlines. All great choices. My choice would be the Alpines. I like the Kuiu fit better, but I have not tried the newest models of the Sitka pants to...

Do I really need a softshell?

I have also become a big fan of the vest the last couple years. I never used one before, but they are so versatile. I love the Guide vest. The Jetstream vests are also nice. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

    What Pants?

The noise shouldn't be an issue. Although I haven't spent a lot of time in the Highlines. I have worn the C4E Switchbacks quite a bit though and never noticed a noise issue with either. I wouldn't think they would be any louder than the Attacks. I do prefer the slimmer fit of the Kuiu pants...

    What Pants?

I own the Attacks and the Highline. Have you considered the Kuiu Alpines? Those would be my choice. You can run a wide range of temperatures with those by throwing layers underneath. I like the fit of the Alpines better than the others. The Highline are a much looser fit. Sent from my...

    Puffy Pants Comparo-

I own the Superdown pants. I don't think durability is an issue. I just throw them on over the top if I'm going to be sitting in the cold for long periods. Get you one of the new Kuiu glassing pads and you'll be good to go. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

    The Best Gaiters

Yeah we weren't sure if it was from leakage or condensation building up on the inside. Either way it was not a lot of moisture. IMO it's hard to beat the Kuiu gaiters in fit, form, and function. But the C4E are nice at a much lower price. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

    The Best Gaiters

Yes they are waterproof. Although my buddy wore them last fall/winter and I wore the Kuiu ones. When we would take them off after being in the snow, etc., he always had a little moisture that was on the inside whereas I was dry. Not sure if that is due to breathability or actually letting...

    2016 Kuiu Ultra bag material

    2016 Kuiu Ultra bag material

They've been in the outlet for a while. They were even included in the Memorial Day sale which took an additional 15-25% off the already discounted price. That wiped most of the inventory out. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
