FL Puggy (ump...) vs KUIU super down. Yes, I know it is synth vs down, but which is warmer?

The FL has more fill and is warmer IMO. I've had both at think the FL is better. However both are super loud, but Kuiu offers the Kenai jacket which is a synthetic fill but with a different outer fabric, super quiet and comfy, one of my favorite pieces of gear.

FL is warmer IMO but I would say it is noisier than the super down. The Kenai is nice, very quite and breathable but the least warm of the 3.

+1 for the Kenai. I am a big fan of both FL and Kuiu and while I don't have any experience with the FL outer layers the Kenai is a fantastic piece.

I have the Kenai, it's a very comfortable but doesn't block the wind real well. I froze my ass off while glassing with that. The arm sections are a little thin if you wear layers under it in my experience. I'm considering the kifaru parka for November hunts.

I really like the KUIU super down but only as a super packable warming layer that I probably wouldn't wear in the wild unless it was under the shell of rain gear or something else. It's hard to describe but I don't think "fragile" isn't too far out of bounds to describe the feel of the KUIU products. Every time I wear my SD jacket or pants, I'm on high alert to what might snag or otherwise destroy them. That said, I've yet to have any serious issues with either product so that should stand as a testament to some sort of durability. To me, it's like comparing ripstop nylon to fleece or even Cordura. You give up weight for durability.

It's amazing how different everyone is. I've had all three and the Kenai ran circles around the FL in terms of warmth for me. I sold the FL and the Super Down and still wear the Kenai and my cheap Costco 800 fill down jacket, as both of these were warmer.

I dumped the SD and FL due to noise and went to the Kenai. I add a thin wind outer if required for stationary conditions. System works great.

Kenai or the Teton puffy, both are quiet and have some stretch. I don't think my Teton puffy is warm enough for the late season but all I need for archery and its quiet.

I'm still using a marmot puffy that came in one of their 3 in 1 parkas. Plenty warm and plenty quiet. When I wear it out I reckon I will be picking up the FL. Seems to be more durable and water resistant. The fabric just looks like it would hold up better than KUIU and would be suited to use as an outerlayer without needing the protection of raingear on top of it. Luke alluded to that as well in his review.
