Bought a ridgeline in 6.5 creedmoor a couple years ago, it's the older style receiver and was on clearance at sportsmans. It sucked. Saw no reason to send it in and wait possibly months, so I took it to a very competent local smith along with the couple hundred I saved on the clearance price...
Hope it helps you out for the time being. Maybe a game scout sometime down the road wonder what they would come out at with edge fill. I'm liking mine on the shorty bolt but they're not cheap, want to upgrade the scope when the credit card recovers
I worked up a load for my 280 with 7828, switched to ssc when I ran out, didn't see any difference with the same charges. SSC definately has better flow characteristics.
My kids fight over the ugliest guns in my safe because they've seen the tiny groups and the steaks on the plate and know the value of the tool. Ungrateful little f#$%ers are also waiting for me die so they can swipe my suppressors, times change. There's a stack of 7-08s that fit the bill, mine...
At 7mm-08 velocities that bullet should behave pretty well. Modern ballistic tips are tougher than some people give them credit for. I've recovered 165 grain ballistic tips and accubonds fired from 308s and '06s from several critters, weight retention and expansion are very similar, only way...
Right! I remember when my hunting clothes were my school clothes with long johns underneath. Just sayin, seldom see a poorly dressed road hunter hereabouts
Rifle for new mexico. That would be whichever handles better in the cab of a truck. Be sure to wear a complete set of expensive camo while driving around, it helps you aim all better bro. North of Albuquerque is literally half the state. Check regs, much of the huntable in the sandias is...
I think so. 22" is the longest barrel I can stand to be around with a can on. I chopped an x bolt creed to 18" and don't miss out on anything with hadloads, using rl 26 I'm still way ahead of factory stuff when it was 22". 20 inches is really a nice spot for a suppressed hunting rig...
You'll have a ball, west side steep alpine, east side rolling ponderosa. Hope they get some rain up there, grass really sucked last year. There are basically two roads in the whole area, does'nt stop most people from just road hunting, get out of the truck. Buddy killed a nice bull in the...
I've hunted the cow hunts out there almost every year for the last 11 years, except for when I draw a bull tag somewhere else. Honestly couldn't tell you the last time I ran into someone in the woods out there. Get out of the truck and you should be fine. Helped on a couple bull hunts in...
Don't lose too much sleep over it. Math and wind spook aside, you're not going to see much difference in terminal performance. Pick whichever makes you happy, shoot enough to be able to make an honest assessment of your capabilities and stick to it. A few inches up down or sideways looks like...
Nifty, would look great on an ugly gun, I'm glad there is so much expensive stuff to get to improve on rifles that generally worked pretty well to begin with, keeps me from wasting money on food and beer
absolutely. The linkage bar between the safety and the trigger sticks out a little wider with the timney installed and causes the safety to bind. having a little bit of additional clearance wont affect the factory trigger at all.
Mcmillan game scout short action for x bolt. As new condition, small amount of material removed from inside trigger area to accomodate timney trigger. 31 oz's, pillars, decelerator pad, has not been bedded. $550 shipped
