We go every year. Check out VRBO for the floating cabins, they're awesome and the guides will pick you up from your dock. No better than sitting on the dock watching the sun set and having a beer watching the boats come and go. There's a bunch in the Venice marina there. Most all come with a...
I use Ottos Noizebarrier and they're great from a tech standpoint, no wind issues, great noise cancellation and they even increase the ambient noise to hear other stuff. The only thing that sucks is the foam parts for your ears, they could be more comfy.
Mine took 15 months and I just got it last summer. It's my new go-to gun, super light, balances amazing and more accurate than I can shoot. My only complaint is the same as the comment above, the bolt is just not that smooth and for the price I expect butter smooth. It's mine though, and I dont...
I did 3 years of (unsuccessful) DIY and now I'm going on my first guided hunt this fall for them. 6 in one hand, half dozen the other on costs. I want to taste success then I'll probably go back to DIY. I dont regret a single one of my hunts, but I'm tired of tag soup.
Hope you have better luck!
I was in Pagosa Springs a month ago and played at Pagosa Springs Golf Club, was playing the game of my life but unfortunately got rained out before we could finish. I have 2x gift certificates worth $27.23 a piece ($54.46 total) that I cannot use and thought maybe someone here could put them to...
I am currently in Pagosa Springs, there's some haze to the air from the fires up north, but there's no fire in the area that I'm aware of. No smoky smell unless there's a good north wind. We came from Durango and went to Wolf Pass today, all looks good.
Good luck!
Glad to see this post, funny thing is I'm the stranger in this situation. I was called by an outfitter with a last minute cancellation so I went ahead with it since why not right? I have the same concerns as you and plan to get with the outfitter early and often on how it will work ahead of...
Hi All, the wife and I are taking a few weeks to stay near Durango / Pagosa springs come August and I've been doing my homework for some fly fishing spots in the area. Either way I thought I would ask if there's any pointers in the area and what flies are good that time of year.
I've already...
I'd have to go with the Vapor stormlight rain jacket. Where would I use it you ask? Well I'd use it in Colorado's San Juan mountains during early archery elk season of course. Then you may wonder, well why do you need it? Well, let's not mention the daily, soaking thunderstorms that pass through...
30 here, I've moved twice further and further away from family. To be honest, it sucks... at first. Then once you've figured the place out, made your home, make some friends thats when it gets better / fun. There's no avoiding the sucky part, but it doesn't last long. They call it FOMO - fear of...
I'm selling my once used Garmin Oregon 600 GPS unit. Large color screen. 7.09 Oz with batteries installed, can be less with lithium batteries. Full disclosure and honesty in what you're buying, I had issues with it randomly shutting off or freezing when I installed my OnXmaps chip into it, or...
Good luck, just got back from my first hunt. We did the same thing and pushed straight through from sea level. The altitude wasn't as bad as I thought and we were camped at 10,500. We didn't stick one, but saw several up close, all in the steep dark timber. And they aren't lying about smelling...
Just got back from my 100% greenhorn hunt too. Just rock the big pack as your daily pack and scrunch it down as much as you can. It's not ideal, but whatever. Frogg toggs worked great for me, although loud, I didn't move much when it was raining. Run what you brung and leave excess gear in the...
Completely unused VPA broadheads 100 grain, vented, screw in. Never even tested them out, just took them out of the pack to play / look at them. Just not my cup o' tea. $40 / pack from their website, will take $65 for both with shipping included TYD.
