Most states recognize hunter safety from other states. Here in TN you can take your course online and schedule a single field day to get your certification. For an international hunter it might be worth looking into to save a few days.
GL SL5 will be plenty big enough for your wants. I'm not sure how they package them these days, but they're roomy even with the floor and netting setup. They couldn't care less when it rains, you can use cots inside, versatile setup options. They're good tents.
I do the same thing in my SL3 and the same for Ethan and his SL5. Just lower the pole, reach out under the tent, cinch down the walls and you're good to go.
Absolutely in favor of this idea. Like others, I'm in the beginning stages of planning an international hunt and this would provide an appropriate space for discussing logistics as well as posting experiences. Shoot, if it ends up as a lame duck it can always be pulled.

I've not used a jetboil, so I could be wrong, but with my PR, I use a kettle that can also be used with a wood fire and I don't think the JB can pull double duty there.
