We started out with our kid with a floored shelter. Mainly for easing the wife mind. Have you discussed a floor less shelter with your wife? I would look at a 3-4 person tent. We used a copepod spur ul4. That way you don't have a o worry about a little one eating everything in the floor less tent.
Bow rack in Redding. Customer service and knowledge. I have based almost all the business I do whether it's hunting or life in general on a combination of these to things. Treat every customer the way you would want to be treated and go out of your way to make each experience a customer has with...
Camp as close to the carcass as possible, eat in your tent and keep leftovers right next to your head in case you get hungry in the middle of the night. Haha
I basically do what others do. Try and keep a clean camp. Keep smelly thing away whether on the ground or in a tree. I keep all my food...
Ditch the soft shell or the puffy. California is plenty warm enough for one or the other. I personally run a soft shell for warmer California weather. That will save a pound.
Tried this in your xl stove Kevin and was amazed. Packed one in just to see and I fell asleep around 9 pm. Woke at 6 and the stove was still hot to touch. Wish there was something similar and lighter.

I will agree with what others say, for the most part. A bigger bag can always compress down. I personally own 2 packs. I have a dt3 that I use for simple backpacking trips that don't involve the extra gear a hunting trip requires. I also use this bag for short scouting trips (under 3 days)or day...
Wac'em is what I have been using for a couple years and I am flat out impressed with this head. Great flight especially at longer ranges. I would check out their new expandable as well. Shuttle t and slick trick are also great heads that have been proven over the years.
As of now you can't get onx maps for an inreach, but I heard that is going to change. They are also talking about making a more user friendly gps model with the same distress and tracking abilities as the inreach. If this is the case I think I will be buying one.
I currently use a garmin...
The downside in my mind for having a rangefinder that is an all in one is if something needs to get repaired I am out a whole setup. I can get by without one thing but add multiple things and I'm in rough shape. Adding more complex features to any item will just mean more things to go wrong. I...
What do you consider long range? Are you going to be shooting animals or targets? If you are going to be shooting animals long range I would definitely go the 06 route if these are the only two calibers you are considering.
It was touched before but I think there are a ton of guys that can't shoot as good as a custom gun can. I am one of those guys. Most factory guns can shoot better than me. I mainly archery hunt and spend way more time shooting my bow than my gun. I know I would be a better if I shot more and I'm...
