I seem to use lumbar packs for this 99% of the time. Usually it has been a mountainsmith day tripper with their strappettes. It's about 850 cubic inches, which seems fairly small, but it sure hauls quite a bit. I travel for work frequently and I can put my laptop, travel folder, jacket and a couple of snacks in it pretty easily. I've recently acquired a Kifaru scout that I want to try outs well. It's a bit bigger so it'll be interesting.

I bought one and tried it but I didn't care for it-too small for what I carry everyday. I also didn't care for the way the straps work b/c it was originally designed for a larger pack add-on. That's just ME though because lots of guys carry it daily.

I traded a buddy my urban zippy for his scout, I figured I could mount the scout to a frame much easier and it comes with stays, no mods needed. So far I am pretty happy.
