Now I’m an out of stater, so my word is worth less than most, but this is just foolishness. I can’t speak to exact numbers, but A) I really have a hard time believing deer shot 30 years ago are still affecting the herd to that level, and B) either way Colorado still has the biggest elk and mule...
That’s reassuring lol we aren’t setting the bar high. My backup plan is my 3wt fly rod and a lake for some cuts. When the hunting sucks, catch fish lol

Edit: I’ll be mule deer hunting so that is my top interest, but elk talk is more than welcome!
Not looking for spots, just wondering how the general flat tops area is doing? I hear it’s been dry, and looks like snow is still a long way off. I’ll be headed out for 3rd rifle. Did a lot of e...
Yeah there’s pros and cons for sure. It’s a heat of the moment decision. Sometimes I stay zoomed out. Depends on so many factors. Figured it might be nice to have. My dad is strictly a 3-9 guy. And outshoots me plenty. So maybe he’s on the right track lol

My last scope went to 12. I like the power. I keep it cranked down but if I have plenty of time I zoom it in. Aim small miss small. Like to pick out a specific hair

Ended up picking up a lightly used NF SHV 4-14. Little heavy but their reputation won me over. Really like it. The mils is a game changer for me.

It’s a gamble. I find lowas to fit pretty true. They’re now my go to brand. Love them. I wear them daily for my job.

Ok I’m new to this.
I have a 30-06. I did my calc using an online calculator so I haven’t checked it in real life, but wondering if it seems legit and did it right.
I put in various wind speeds until I got 0.6 mil at 600 yards. It came out to 3 mph. Seem accurate?

So me and the fellas are gearing up for another trip west. Before we leave, we’d like to get together and waste some overpriced ammo together. We always shoot, but usually don’t link up to do so. I I figured it would be a fun way to extend the trip in a way, but I don’t want to just lay the...
Yeah that makes sense too. I know in some situations you don’t have time to really worry about 0.1 mils. You can get darn close. I think my plan now is practice a lot, have my new range finder, and also have a dope card on my Lock Screen Incase my finder were to crap out or something

Took your advice and just picked up an sig. local store had a good sale. Can’t believe I wasted my time on the vortex. More money and less features.

Thanks I’ll check them out. I’m fine with memorizing if that’s the way to go too. Just figured I’d ask.
I have a vortex diamondback 2000 I believe. I haven’t downloaded any apps yet. I’ll check that one out.

Ok this doesn’t apply 100% to “long range” but I figured this would be most likely to get a good answer.
I’m getting into dialing shots and just picked up a mil scope. I get every rifle is different, round, so many factors. But how does one go about calculating their mils for a shot? I know a...
Dang. I knew it would go fast but not that fast. I got lucky on the original drop for it. It’s my new daily. Best of luck! There’s a Facebook group called knife trading sales & feedback. They pop up on there pretty regularly. Might be your best bet.
