It seems as if some of the guys commenting on this thread have never actually seen or used a kifaru. Like the system or not it has a designated “meat shelf” on every pack made for like the last 7-8 years. The new frame looks to have the same attachment points. As for the new bag, what I watched...
I’m with @atmat. I have the triple s and the 2-5 and can’t say enough good things. The triple s is an awesome seat, pillow for naps, and to shoot off. We took a sheep, 4 bulls, 2 bucks, and a bear off the triple s last year. Shots from 280-720. And his customer service is top notch.
I know it will be better without a doubt. Some people are still caught up on what kifaru said in the past about carbon fiber and Kuiu.
I’ve tried one or more packs from all the big pack companies. If you would have asked me 4-5 months ago if I thought the K4 was going to be good I would have...
I have zero idea if carbon fiber has improved or not. What I do know is kuiu’s design was poor. I know of a few that broke. Load lifters snapping, middle/bottom of the frame cracking, and so on. Time will tell if Kifaru’s design is better or not. Just looking at it, it looks to be.
I have been running the outdoorsman’s pan head for a long time but am testing a couple different heads right now. The tricer pan head, aziak ball head, and a ball head from leofoto (don’t remember which one off the top). Right now I am leaning towards the aziak.
Hunts 5 days or less and weather that isn’t freezing it’s actually pretty easy to not bring a stove. I eat a huge shake for breakfast (1000+ calories) and then just eat the normal bars, diff nut butters, jerky, snickers, etc. I’ve never missed it on those type of hunts. Longer colder hunts I...
I have all 3 of those mentioned at my house now.
The AD is nice but long when folded. It hangs a decent ways out most pockets on packs. More often than not I just strap it to the outside of my pack.
The BC is a good all around tripod. It’s stable for glassing with my BTX, binos, and shooting...
We’ve killed 6 bulls with our elements in 6.5prc in the last 3 years. None have made it more than 40-50 yards. Shoot them in the vitals with a good bullet and you won’t have to track them. Shots from 80-719y.
There’s a time and place for any piece of equipment. My tripod is the last option but something I still want to have in my arsenal. This last season we killed 4 bulls. One off a bipod, one off a rock, and 2 off tripods. The the two off the tripod were both 700+ yards. The lay of the land made it...
As others have stated you probably want to consider the blood/kill for the trophy fee. It’s the cleanest and can’t be disputed. This is what they do in other countries and it works.
For those that don’t think it would work I can’t get behind your argument. It was how guides/outfitters operated...
