Nice! any details on mounting?
How are you using and how's the balance? The one in the pic I posted seems more up front and better for bipods, but I'll probably use it mostly on a tripod so I'm thinking of mounting further back, but then maybe bipods won't work as well, I don't know....
+1 ☝️
Being a resident, I would think there are some decent 2nd choice deer tags you could choose to get some experience while saving the points. I guess it depends on the area you want to hunt. For the resident cost, I'd definitely have a deer tag in pocket while chasing elk. Bear too...
My Accura mrx shoots powerbelt elr 330's and Thor 300's about the same.
Of the 2 elk and 2 deer we've shot with muzzy, only one of the elk actually ran and made it less than 100yds. It was the elr 330, and blood trail was not good at all. I think the first elk was a regular powerbelt...
I didn't know they had two versions, I'll have to check that out. The stock one is junk.
I don't like their safety either. I'm 99% certain it has been pushed to fire while hiking around.
I'll try the Ruger before another Savage.
I looked for a picture of the savage safety and the first...
I missed a doe before I shot my dink. And I wouldn't shoot one in deep. I hunted most of Sep and didn't get an elk that year, all of my help traveled back home. I went out my last day on a meat mission. But with meat in the freezer, I let a bunch of youngins walk on my NM hunt later in the...
We have a Savage Axis .270 and it shoots good, but I'm not a fan of the safety and the magazine sometimes doesn't click all the way in. I looked them over again and the Scout seems comparable in some aspects, but not weight.
I see some Tikka's in the price range, but none with adjustable...
If I travel out west I'm usually trying to get a decent bull/buck. But I still want meat. Since elk is a lot more meat and different, I'm less picky and usually looking for just a legal bull. My mule deer tag is usually just an opportunity, but last year I wanted to focus more on muley and...

See below from the google, I had heard this before.
Archaeological evidence shows that cavities were rare in humans until the Neolithic period, which began around 6,000 years ago. Here are some examples of archaeological evidence of cavities...
I'm looking to add a 6.5cm(set on caliber) to have another deer gun for the kids. It will probably see some action out west eventually too. We don't currently shoot or hunt long range and I do not want to spend much more than the Ruger(~$600).
Are there any options I should consider before...
The ram rod doesn't slide into the gun. It comes with a belt holster.
I haven't seen one, but I would definitely buy. I've already lost the carbon rod that came with it. Luckily I had bought an arrowhead aluminum as a backup
I don't know the pull, but I feel like it's a good trigger.
I don't mind adding a few things that I'll also use on late season or other hunts in the future.
Looking at
Northstar glommit
Chuga or northridge rain pants
kenai jacket
He said ground hunting whitetails, so I'm assuming sitting a ground blind.
The clamping works great cause you have it in position pointed the anticipated direction, reducing movement and noise of getting the gun up.
I mostly use it for the kids, but the wife likes it too. I'll use it in a...
