I feed mine through an AICS setup on my savage with a custom barrel. No issues at all. I have tone of room.
243 case is 2.045” with a .242” neck
A 105 Amax is 1.237 with a .2” BT
With the bullet seated with bearing surface right at the end of neck it’s only 1.803+1.037 for a COAL of 2.84”.

At distance, helical does induce a lot of drag and will cause the arrow to drop more. But you’re not comparing two like weight arrows, so I think the weight is your Biggest factor.
Getting back to 243 topic, i have had no issues seating 105 a max in a factory chamber, but haven’t tried anything larger in my factory barrels.
wasn’t a Tikka, but it was a SAAMI chamber.
I’ve been shooting some XV 300s for a short time. Not issues yet, but the wall is noticeably thinner than an axis 300. I don’t expect them to be as tough, but I had these 6 shafts given to me, so I’m tinkering with them.
27.5 ctc
75 gr brass hit
10 gr IW collar
125gr head
405gr total. No...
Definitely 3 sizes. No personal experience with anything but the mini max right helical.
mini - 2.25” vanes
mini max - 3” vanes
ez fletch - 5” vanes

Personally, not for me…single use BH since it mushrooms after taking an animal. I like to reuse my BHs on multiple animals. But the 600fps and flat to 200yd trajectory are tempting.
The designer of the SEVRs has a few podcasts out there talking about his setup, and he shoots a 460 gr arrow with the SEVR as I recall. He has a pretty solid track record on big game. No two shots, shooters, or scenarios will ever be equal, but if Randy Ulmer designed this head for his specs...
I also shoot an XT as a backup. My sight housing is 1.8” and I have nothing blocked.
great bow. Doubt I’ll ever sell it. Owned since new and it was my main bow from the time it fist sold until I bought a new VXR. Love the VXR, but the XT is still smoother and quieter.
I use the mini max and it puts a lot of helical on my blazers. You can also buy different length replacement arms if you don’t like the size you bought.
Switchback XT hands down for me. Sold every bow I’ve ever owned when it came to me upgrading, but this one has stuck around. Not the fastest, but still the smoothest I’ve ever shot. The bow is on its second set of limbs, at year 15 the originals started to splinter and Mathew’s replaced at no...
I can second the 95BT if you end up with a 10 twist. But you are on the right track trying to get the 8 twist. I have 243s in both. An original BAR in 243 that will cloverleaf 95gr ballistic tips all day, but hates the 55-80gr bullets. It eats almost any 90-100gr and is a true 10 twist. My...
I’ll start by saying I do not believe you can beat the Paramount HTR in .40 for an OTC front loader.
If you’ll NEVER shoot over 300, then the LR-X is plenty of gun and as you mentioned, better optics are always a great thing. I shoot a TC Omega (same 120gr BH209 limit) to 300yds regularly...
From what I see of the glove on their website and a few YouTube videos, the Kevlar will simply keep carbon shards out of your hand. The bones would still break.
I may only go the FMJs route(already have the arrows) as the aluminum will keep the carbon contained. An FMJ should also prevent...
