Field judging tall and narrow mule deer

Last year I went into a new spot that has different antler genetics than I am accustomed to. I found a couple bucks that were tall in the back but relatively narrow. Any tips on judging bucks like this? See photo below. I Would love to hear some score guessed on this example buck. As well as...

Federal BC's or velocities extremely optimisitic?

I have been shooting groups at each distance then using the average of that group as you suggest. Group size has been about 1.2MOA at 300 and 400 and 0.8MOA at 200 and 100. I will check out that article by form. Thank you.

Federal BC's or velocities extremely optimisitic?

Thanks for the responses and experience. At the end of the day it hits where it hits. I will stretch it out to 5 and 600 for more drop data.

Federal BC's or velocities extremely optimisitic?

This is very helpful. Thanks. If I use the lower end of your range (2560FPS) I get very close to my observed drops. So I think it simply is what it is. A slow load/ barrel. The method I used is below- I zeroed with 7 shots at 200 yards. I then Held dead on target at 300 and 400 and shot 7...

Federal BC's or velocities extremely optimisitic?

Ya I know. I’m a cheap SOB. I expect velocities below box, but 175FPS below box velocity seems a bit shocking. I’m going to try to find someone local who I can borrow a chrony from. I can’t justify the purchase at the moment

How to train myself to shoot with both eyes open?

I've shot rifles and bows with one eye closed my entire life. I am right handed and right eye dominant. I have heard/ read discussions of the merits of shooting with both eyes open. It seems to me that it would increase situational awareness and light gathering ability. I have tried and...

Compact SFP Scopes with Mil or MOA Reticles?

That acupoint looks excellent especially at 13 oz. . . . I think I have decided on the Trijicon Credo 3-9X40 with Red MOA Reticle due to its short compact size and more appropriate price for my application/budget. Thanks for the tips all.
