Yea I was looking at the Iron Will insert just not sure how much weight to run up front. My Broadheads are 125 so was thinking going with the 10 grain collar and 15 grain insert. I feel like this is a rabbit hole I can't give myself out of. Think I am overthinking this a lot. Then tuning is a...
Thank you! I see a lot of people talk about the difference in arrow length and the difference in tuning. I’m still learning all this but would you cut carbon to carbon and not the well of the nock to carbon? Also, is standard practice for the arrow to be your draw length?

Hey All,
I am looking to build a new arrow and need some help with my selection and arrow length. My current bow setup is a Matthews V3 27 1/2 draw @ 70#. I am looking at either the easton axis match grade or the easton pro comp. Was also looking at doing the iron will insert system with...
Hey All,
I just got accepted into a gun club so plan on doing a lot more pistol shooting but also want to start working up my own hunting loads as well. Was looking for press recommendations to load both pistol and rifle. I am know nothing about reloading so was looking to leverage the groups...
I'm shooting a 70# bow with a 27 1/2 draw. I would take a shot on an elk out to 50. From what everyone is saying above is seems like the solids are the way to go. Haven't heard anything on the V series though.
Hey All,
I most hunt whitetails but also go for elk hear and there. I would like a 125 grain head to use on both. Is there a particular Iron will head that you all suggest. Not sure if there is a benefit from the different designs. I have a matthews V3 with a matthews quiver if that makes a...
Yea this hardware came with the arrows when I bought them so was thinking giving them a try, I know they need to get glued in so I'm assuming if I don't like them i'm kind of stuck with them and get swap them out correct?
So in this scenario I'd be around 175 upfront with the tip and insert but I have weights I could possible add. Do you think this would negatively impact the spine if I added a heavier insert?
Thanks both! I'm just getting into building my own arrows and tuning on my own. Any tips on how I can identify a weak arrow and some quick tips to correct it?
Hey All,
I'm building a new arrow for my new bow. And when running the specs through Archers Advantage and qSpine app, I am getting different outputs. Archers advantage is telling me it is on the weak side while qSpine is telling me it is on the stuff side. I do like my arrows a little on the...
Hey All,
I have a pocket rocket as my stove which I am happy with but I am not happy with my cook set which is a snow peak with two pots and lids. I find the cook set clunky and noisy (I know I can carry just one pot and lid to reduce this). Was looking for suggestions if I should swap out just...
Thanks everyone for the input. I went with the G20. The way I looked at it, is I want something that will be more accurate as concealing it isn't an issue for me. My intention is to wear it in a chest holster under my marsupial bino harnes. Thanks to all for the input and advice this was all...
Everyone here has been super helpful so thanks for your feedback. I don't have huge hands as I'm 5' 9" 165# so I'm going to go to the shop and hold them and just see which is more comfortable. With that said I plan on using underwood 220 when in the backcountry I have heard of folks changing out...
Do you find carrying on your chest is impeded in anyway when your pack is on. I find drawbacks with both. Like it on my chest for when I drop my pack but when i have my pack on think the straps get in the way.
