I like the Kifaru style sacks for the same reasons as stated above. I hate having a ball in my pack. I have used my vacuum sealer to seal up extra clothing as well as my game bags and it works great. I do not have to worry about the clothing getting wet. Vacuum sealing that stuff really takes a...
From my experience it was not an open shop, the front door was locked and I had to ring a door bell to get in. If you contact Kifaru and make an appointment they are more than accommodating.
No the Kifaru is not waterproof. I however put it in a contractors trash bag that I have with me anyway. The Kifaru does eliminate the football effect that most stuff sacks create in your pack. The Kifaru 5 string packs great.
I use a pack cover as well as contractor bags. I have the contractor bags anyway so why not use them to keep my bag and other essentials dry. Thinking of ways to have equipment double its duty saves weight. Here in Colorado I have only had to break out the pack cover half dozen times in twelve...
very good stuff there. enjoy it while you can. my oldest is 13 now and has his own tag to fill this year. it feels like it took not time for him to get this old.
I use nat geo as well. I found a vendor online that has roles of water proof paper as well. Print the map and spray the ink with rattle can varnish and you have a completely foldable and water proof map. It works great. Other paper is about $180 for a 24"x100' roll.
Mike,
Going to a good running shop was a great move. having them watch your gait and trying on several different brands is best. I go through a pair of running shoes in about 3 or 5 months I average around 140 miles a month. The best running shoes will only last 600 miles or so. Once the foot...
+1 Ryan. I started hunting with a rifle is the Black Hills of SD and moved to CO and picked up a bow as it gave me more time in the field with way less hunters to compete with.
I would like to get a new tent this year. I was at my local Golite store and checked out the new Golite Imogene UL3 tent with foot print. Looks like a good option for a Colorado, NM, Nevada, AZ. hunt. The tent, fly, footprint, pegs, and guylines should be at 3.5 pounds. Fast and light option...
Water and Rolaids help me. Something that is in the Rolaids kills an altitude headache. Tums do not work they must be Rolaids. I have noticed too the better shape I am in regarding my cardio the less issues I have with headaches at altitude.
I used them last year and will continue to use them. I like the smaller diameter. Put one through a RM Big horn Sheep at 40 yards. this year. I bought a dozen last year and shot them all year long using the HIT inserts with no problems. They will find their way into my quiver again this year. I...
I agree with Evan on this. I have both the Helix and the Bitz. If I am fletching Blazers I use the Helix, I tried to use the Bitz (with right helical) with the Blazers but could not get the Blazer to contact on the leading corner or the opposite trailing corner. It did not matter if I was using...
