I havent seen a decline in the raptor populations at all.
In fact, it seems they're freakin everywhere.
Bald Eagles galore. I almost hit one going to work the other day
as he flew across the road .
Used to be a big thing to see one, but now it's no big deal.
Red Tails , Ospreys, Sharpshins...
Am I the only one who has actually thought about what rifle to take one of these
things out?
I think my .375Ruger would annihilate one. But.....soft point or solid?

I'd say you're probably good and suggest keeping it @ 400 or less.
Either of those bullets would work.
I killed both of mine with Partitions out of a 7Wby, and a 300WM.

I transplanted a volunteer loquat late last Summer and was doing fine.
Until the rut hit. Danged buck wore it out.

I've killed and eat a lot of Whitetail in my 57 years, all killed with lead bullets.
I'm very sure the fried chicken and Little Debbies will get me before the perceived lead in those Whitetail.
