It would seem to me after reading this thread that having some synthetic gear would be a good option when hunting Kodiak. Here in BC if i am west of the rockies it is extremely wet and i use synth clothing and sleeping bag.East it is much dryer so dridown works well.No synthetic gear on that trip...
Looks like a good tent i really like the 3rd pole in the foot area keep the bag off your feet which the Hillies have issues with.
This also lookks goodhttps://blogpackinglight.wordpress.com/2013/03/14/force-ten-nitro-lite-200-initial-assessment/
I have 32 attacks and they are slightly tight in the waist .I'm more a 32x33 waist . And i agree i do not like the pockets on the attacks all that much. More so the rear pockets. The Alpines in 32 are perfect.I think the waist is a bit stretchier i find them much more comfortable.
That is impressive.Just ordered the Kenai in Large.I am 6' 185 i only want to wear a merino under it and throw a xl superdown over top of those for glassing and camp .I fall between a L and XL in Kuiu hope i get it right picking the L in the Kenai.
Another consideration is does a full wrap belt work better for your body type than a lumbar belt?I think SG has a full wrap option and additional lumbar pad option.
If your going to use it for high activity i would say you will sweat.I have the jacket and would not hike hard in it it is very windproof not so breathable. If your looking for core warmth while hiking hard i would go with a soft shell vest or that Kenai jacket or Patagonia nano air vest.
I just want it for solo use.I'm looking for a 3 + season bombroof solo option right around 3 pounds that is as free standing as i can get.Their other tents i find a bit to heavy.
I'm going to assume you guys are building under the heal of your foot with extra insole material to kind of lift your heal so it has less chance of heel lift? That is what i do to take away any movement and i have not had any blisters for years.
I have a Integral designs south Col II bivy made of event. It has arm holes and center zip i use it with my Feathered friends wrock wren bag which also has arm holes.I can cook ,sit out a storm sitting up without being in a burrito i take it everywhere.Add a tarp and nice functional light take...
