Tikka is where the road of frustration led me after getting burned by Fierce, Bergarbage and Savage (AR-10). Savage was actually really helpful and responsive but that platform was just too complicated and unreliable so I sent it down the road.
Only risk with Tikkas is that you impulsively buy...
You can buy them from Mountain Tactical, Maybe UM or even just use your OEM lug with some epoxy/bedding compound in the recess to ensure it's not moving. I haven't had the issues with fitment on my Stocky's VG stocks as I had with my Rokstock, so it doesn't seem to be as critical...
Personally, I enjoy handloading and would do that for 6 Creed anyway. Also, the 243AI should get me 100-150fps more than the Creed without going to crazy overbore like 6 PRC/UM/SAUM.
Everyone says they hate fireforming, but I do that with any cartridge anyway - never bother to load develop on...
Yes, the illumination/splash is inconsistent between units (I have 5). My other wish is that they could have a NightForce-style push power button with auto-off.
But yeah, not a feature I use much. Just have to remember to keep it off.
I have universal Fix it sticks and the new Wheeler. I prefer the Wheeler for scope mounting due to repeatability with scope ring caps. My guess is that you want even torque on these and eyeballing with the universal Fix it sticks is probably less consistent.
No experience with the click style...
Sorry to bug again, but what primer did it like (large or magnum large?) Looking to dive in to my first 243AI and want to minimize testing if possible. I have H1000, Retumbo, Staball HD and N565 to try for slower powders. Both types of primers.
I've been investing in Tikkas and reloading gear. Not sure why my wife is on my case so much...
My only advice for a "super saver" like yourself is to consider diversifying into real estate. I'm not a great saver, but wound up with a few rental units that will greatly offset my YOLO financial...
I kind of have my eye on one of these:

I like being able to close the tailgate, and could tow my SXS pretty easy. Would be awesome for quick weekend camping trips, saving time on setting up camp (that's what I tell myself to justify $30k).
High-falutin rifle builds with the latest cartridge, spirals and nitride. In the end it’s objectively much worse than the factory barrel spun off it.
More hunting, shooting and time outdoors and less chasing the popular builds on Rokslide.
Why not just buy a custom rifle with custom loaded ammo and pre loaded ballistics?
I guess the answer is money, and sometimes some of us enjoy tinkering.
I just bought a 243 Hunter T3X for $639 plus there’s a $75 rebate from tikka. Add shipping and tax you’re at $645 in hand. The stock is pre sold for $220 shipped so I’m at about $450 for the barreled action. I suspect the 1:8 twist 6mm barrel would sell for about $150 since 6mm creeds are hot...
Not specifically for the Rokstock, but more generally for Stockys style inlets. Rokstock is definitely worse than both of my VGs. Will have more room to avoid trigger contact and less sanding. The prototype we tried needed much less shimming but still some.
Seems like a persistent design...
