I added a tripod to the arsenal this gear season. Had a really awkward shot on the mule deer I tagged last season where I was prone and sitting on a downward slope. I ended up having my bipod resting on my pack and was able to make a good enough position for a 300y shot but It would have been a...
I think we are actually agreeing with each other in a complex way. It’s definitely easier. I don’t necessarily think being pissed at someone like Randy is a reasonable response. Being mad that it’s easier now than it used to be just seems to be a silly way to live your life. Figure it out. Or…...
I would really appreciate it if you would try this out. I have a RAR 204 and I really want a shorter barrel on it just for portability's sake but I am also wary to mess with a good thing. It's a great shooting rifle.
For me in the wind I don't find I'm shooting more than about 300 yards...
The safest bet is to hunt from relatively secure accesses. IE state roads or highways near obviously public big chunks of NF etc. These problems seem to crop more on the fringes, trying to find a sweet little access or interesting small parcel. Not always the case, but more often than not.
If...
Nope. You'll have room in the WS for another person. I have a handful of other Sitka jackets including an aerolite and kelvin lite all are XL. I have the Kelvin down Ws in Large and it is perfectly fine with a heavyweight layer and my aerolite under it.
It's practically sized up on its own...
It’s a different type of fit and a different impact on the body. I have a GR3 which I wear basically every time we walk the kid to the park. 2-3 times a week, 3-5 miles. Almost always a 30lb plate. Mine has a waist belt but it doesn’t carry much load, just stabilizes. I find that I get a lot...
Also try this link for the WY app. It works great on mobile. https://wgfd.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=9d3be55d5cc74afe837f1e510cbc04be

I was thinking font and color and maybe adding line breaks every once and a while. Just to make things easier on the eye.

How do we get the wolves to selectively target the sheep? We could improve the elk hunting experience in NWish CO a hundred fold.

I find it mildly disappointing that the general gist of the complaints in this thread are “It was hard for me to figure out and I’m mad the barrier of entry in my hobby isn’t higher.”
Western hunting is hard. We don’t need this gatekeeping crap too. The “hand holding” and “too easy” argument...
Have the band that came with my Feinix 6 Pro Solar sitting brand new. Just cleaning out stuff taking up space. Still has the original plastic on it.

OR will replace almost anything except tears in the fabric. Buckles straps stitching all that is game. I’ve had a zipper on a puffy, gaiter strap that came unstitched and a soft shell that delaminated (about 7 years old) all replaced by them. It is a solid warranty overall.
I’ve been looking...
I wore it today for about ten minutes. My dang head is too big so it won’t cover my ears all the way.
$35 Shipped to the 48. Would consider trades for other beanies hats gloves or cool gadgets.

I've been extremely pleased with them on antelope. The explosive nature seems to induce a lot of shock and none of the 4 I've shot with the x went very far. Similar results on a small muley and cow elk, although I'm planning something with a bit more penetration for elk hunts going forward.
Also for you SUV guys out there, friends of ours use the Ruffland Large with the slant back in their runner to maximize space. Works fantastic. We've got three Rufflands in various sized, would buy another tomorrow without hesitation.
Put me on the Power Wagon list. I'll never own a 1/2 ton or a truck without front and rear lockers ever again. Just doesn't make sense. Used to have a 3rd gen 4runner. Great for fishing, but fitting 200qts of coolers is... problematic.
