The farthest I’ve ever shot an animal is 500 yards. And that was with a 223 with 77s. If I only had one gun to stretch it out to 600, I’d want to use my 223AI pushing the 88s. Fun gun to shoot and from what I’ve seen that little 88 is vicious. But since I suck at calling wind and 600 yards is in...
I’m loading them in my 223 AI at 2.55 OAL. Using waters mags right now but just bought two of these mags. Hoping they aren’t as hard to get in and out of the mag well.
42 grains of H4350 is pushing my 109s at 2880 with a 16” barrel. I eventually want to try the DTACs with nose ring. The damage they create on elk is impressive!
I may have missed this but was there any plans of making a youth version of this stock? Specifically for the T1X version? My five year old needs a proper 22 of his own.
Took the 223 Ackley and 6 creed out today. Trued them both out to 600. Neither of them came off my point of aim more than 2.5 mils and I never lost my sight picture. Love this stock! Just sold my manners so I’ll be ordering a third one soon.
I take it you recovered the animal due to a follow up shot. Did you happen to take a picture of the wound that was created by that bullet that didn’t penetrate? I was hesitant on using match bullets myself for this exact reason even though I’ve never personally seen it or experienced it.
My circle is going to need to see me do it several times. I started using the 223/TMK combo last year successfully and still can’t convince them you don’t need a 7 mag and ‘06 to kill elk.
