An argument could be made that wolves would push the deer and elk closer to human habitat, thereby increasing cougar/human interaction since cougars would follow the "food".
To your second point: Nobody that keeps their dogs in a fenced yard or on a leash should worry about wolves.
Once again, I thoroughly appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience on the topic! It's great when people share like you have, versus the usual uninsightful, "wolves bad, wolves should die". Unfortunately, those same people will latch on to what you've shared as if they came up with it...
Alright, time to be honest, guys. What do you think is a bigger danger to Colorado wildlife?
Option 1 - The fearsome Grey wolf
Or
Option 2 - The dreaded hipster
Or
Option 3 - Money bag developers
I know the answer....do you?
Yep, I am familiar with those stories. Thank you for sharing them though!
When I talk about wolves, just so everyone understands, I'm not referring to livestock predation issues. That's a whole different ball game. To me, it should be expected that predators will kill dumb ass farm animals...
I want you to know that I agree with what you wrote and share your views.
The only reason why I weigh in on wolf topics is because of the hysteria that surrounds it. Many people talk like Colorado can't support any population of wolves when the reality is that there is no evidence to support...
I agree, CO definitely has a human problem. It's a shame how urban sprawl and resort building has gotten so out of control there.
I'm curious as to what sort of human/wolf interactions are you (or anyone else) worried about? Like pet killing, livestock predation, etc.
I don't live nearby any significant number of them. There is a pack that ranges thru every so often. Does that matter?
That's a cool article! Thanks for sharing it. I always wondered if they ever killed lions.
Way down the road, at a much later date, it's very possible that some wolves will adapt the way these other critters have. Maybe just one here or there for awhile. Maybe they'll all adapt at some point. Idk
Are wolves doing that in other places? Awhile back, a guy on here claimed that they were but when I looked it up, it was an article about wolves ambushing hunting dogs....in the woods. I'd appreciate it if you could share a link to an article about it because I don't want to be talking out of my...
You guys love bringing wolves up at every opportunity, lol. What happened? Did one grab your wife's ass at the bar? Has a wolf ever done something directly to you?
Wolves aren't going to hop fences in the suburbs. If you let your dogs run in the woods off-leash, sure you might lose one to a...
Nope, we're done there for now and probably forever. It wasn't a coincidence that we stepped out so China could step in. The Lithium is a part of it, amongst other things. China will colonize Trashcanistan just like they're colonizing Africa. They will bring infrastructure to AFG just like...
If I worked at a gun store in a rougher part of town or was the only person there, I'd probably consider wearing a soft, low key, IIIA vest.
I worked private security for awhile and the local pd let me borrow one of their vests after an incident with a couple armed tweakers. They offered it...
It's a well-known phenomenon if you ever spent time in bars off base, overhearing young PFC's spitting game to their future dependants.
On a serious note: Depending on the unit and time of deployment, it's very possible that non-combat arms soldiers got into the fight. In the first year of the...
