NF scopes are tanks and I’ve never been impressed with them optically. My Z6’s have been around the world on Mt hunts and haven’t skipped a beat in terms of performance.
When’s your next sheep hunt?
Nice piece of kit! I’ve looked at his rifles at the sheep show and was impressed with the craftsmanship. I’ve been tempted to have him build me a 300 wsm, but don’t think I’ll gain much over my Bettin Custom i had built up for my mt rifle. If its not broken, don’t fix it but that’s never been...
Zamberlan are great boots that are high quality and well constructed. I’ve been wearing them almost exclusively since 2013. But boot fit is purely subjective and personal.
Not sure what model you are looking at, but the mountaineering styles that I wear 2090, 2092 and the lighter 1110 all run...
My creature comforts that go with me on any backpack hunt or trip. I found I’m more comfortable for extended back country trips if I can feel human again after a day or two, and get good rest at night.
LW camp shoes to let feet relax at night
2 oz klymit inflatable pillow in a thermarest...
I would look at Heidi Gutfrucht at Northwest Ranching and Outfitting if you want to go to BC. She has a big area, good age class sheep, proper stone capes and takes only a few sheep hunters a year. She will give you a proper old school sheep hunt if you are prepared to hunt.
Feel free to PM...
Mixed feelings towards them and didn't feel much joy after speaking to them on several occasions. Just didn't like their vibe (my money wasn't good enough or something) and felt like there were better options out there. They are just a booking agent at the end of the day and you will most...
Yes absolutely integrity should exist. I was stating the fact that integrity in DC politics no longer exists. It’s a travesty and will ultimately lead to destruction of our country from within.
Would be interested to constructively hear your opinion as to why Obama was not a lame duck...
Integrity and consistency in DC politics don’t belong in the same sentence.
By 2016 Obama was indeed a lame duck president with little lasting accomplishment from his tenure. All he left was more division among the people and a stagnate economy.
i have no sympathy for the Dems who if you...
i have a Hume argali hunt booked in Kyrgyzstan in November but will have to postpone to hopefully February 2021 due to this mess. Hopefully some of the travel restrictions ease up by then. International travel no joy at the moment. Still waiting for my CITES permit from USFWS as well.....
300 WSM is a great all around caliber and is my go to for my mountain rifle. I had Todd Bettin build mine a few years back (where does time go). I had him build it up around the Barnes 168 grain TTSX bullet.
X-treme titanium action
Satern barrel - Bettin carbon wrapped with 22" finished...
This caliber my go to caliber for Elk or any mountain hunts where I expect longer shots. I've shot elk at 50 yards to sheep and ibex at 650 yards with this caliber.
I use 200 grain Barnes LRX or 200 grain Accubonds as my go to bullets. I've also taken a lot of critters with 180 gr Barnes TSX...
Okay this is something I am also considering but I have a bad eye phobia. I can barely get eye drops in with a lot of effort. Open eyes under water, no freakin way. Can’t even look at a close up image of an eye. I’ve almost passed out eye dr office before from anxiety.
But how can one get...
The original Kenai was a great piece of kit and one of my favorites pieces. I upgraded to the Ultra version and I found it ill fitting and I froze in it, even when walking during my last international mountain hunt. Its just not the same jacket even the spec's are nearly the same. I used it...
I pack up my EMRII fully loaded for most part (less anything expensive like sat phone, spotting scope etc) and put into a Kifaru X-large duffel for checked luggage. I'll put my ammo in a separate hard sided locked case, boots trekking boots, and spare clothing around backpack inside the...
Have a look at some of the wineries in Napa Valley as many offer wine club memberships. I belong to Jarvis Estates Winery as I'm quite fond of their Merlot Reserve and Petit Verdot
