Proof barrel, Defiance action, Bix N Andy trigger, Mcmillan Game Warden stock, 28 Nosler with 190 grain Berger elite hunter bullets. Yep that will do the job.

Here’s a couple pics of my most recent Boswell Ti-SLR:

6.5 PRC 23” tube

Comes in under 7 lbs ready to hunt, shooting 127 gr. Barnes LRX at 3100 FPS.
Nice piece of kit! I’ve looked at his rifles at the sheep show and was impressed with the craftsmanship. I’ve been tempted to have him build me a 300 wsm, but don’t think I’ll gain much over my Bettin Custom i had built up for my mt rifle. If its not broken, don’t fix it but that’s never been an excuse to not get another gun.

looks like a swaro z6? What barrel and action does Steve use?

Yes...Z6i. I debated puttting a NX 8 on it but wanted this one as light As possible, After my first build (300 wsm), I knew exactly what he used for components. But, my memory fails me. I honestly don’t remember and after the success of my first one, I don’t care. 🤣

That thing is SWEET! Kotaman I think I’ve read on here you’ve got/had a 21” PRC build as well? Do you have a preference between those two lengths? Debating 20 vs 22 at the moment.....thanks!

Yes! I have a Gunwerks ClymR 6.5 PRC with a 21” steel barrel in addition to the Boswell. I’ve had PRC’s from 21” to 24” and the difference is negligible. My “wheelhouse” for the PRC is 23” but strictly my preference only. For me 23” is a great combo of speed and carry-ability.

NF scopes are tanks and I’ve never been impressed with them optically. My Z6’s have been around the world on Mt hunts and haven’t skipped a beat in terms of performance.

When’s your next sheep hunt?

I'm going in August and was planning on buying a Fieldcraft in 6.5 or .308 but its seemingly impossible to find them. So might to Mountain ascent. Reviews on the Kimbers seems a little hit and miss though.
Keep an eye out. Check gunbroker once a week or so.

I’m currently in a holding pattern for a Desert Sheep hunt in Mexico that was scheduled for December. Also rescheduled for a Dall hunt from August last year to August 1 this year. Drew an Aoudad tag for New Mexico for February.

For “spinning turrets” I definitely prefer NF, but my “light“ rifles all wear Z6.

I’m debating on building one off a tikka t3x lite action in 7mm rem mag. Going on a OTC hunt in March in New Mexico.

How do you spin the turret on a Swaro? I was looking at a BT model but the videos only show the ability to set zeros at a few increments. Do you just have to go on clicks for ranges in between the colors?

You can have Outdoorsman in AZ make you custom ring that replaces the colored rings that comes standard with the BT scopes. You can calibrate the ring to your rifle ballistics, MOA, or whatever your preferred method is for distance correction. I think Swarovski can do it for you as well if my memory serves me correctly.

This is what I do. The z6 are mil, the Z3 and z5 moa. But yes, with the colored rings you can just count.

Me too. Custom cut turret from either Outdoorsmans or straight from Swaro. That multicolored thing is too complex and inefficient.
