    Not sure if you have space or a yard but planting some fruit trees can help offset the cost also. It will take a few years until they produce larger quantities but that’s not too bad. Do you have a dehydrator? You can make your own apple chips, fruit roll ups and lots of other snacks also.

    Count me in the group that doesn’t clean barrels. I used to clean rifles every 40-50 rounds but have since moved on to other things. I bet my 6.5SAUM has 500+ rounds and only every had a few dry patches down the tube after some rainy hunts. Just shot it this weekend and still hold under MOA...

    Multiple time offender and I bet he still gets off. Why? He had permission to hunt the private land. He can’t be charged with trespassing even though he wasn’t supposed to be where he was because he had permission and it’s on the landowner to prove he told him it was only for certain areas...

    I wouldn’t hesitate to use a 243 on black bear at all. The 95gr Berger VLD is a great choice as is the 105VLD if your rifle is twisted right.

    28 Nosler powder and loads

    Nosler brass is definitely soft and will show ejector marks early on. ADG/Gunwerks/Peterson any of those are good. My 28 Loves 195s over RL33.

    If you can’t find N570 or RL33 I’d pickup the LRT and see how it does. Or US869 if you can find that. What brand brass are you using? Factory chamber/freebore?

    +1 on running some JB bore paste down it also. I would shoot it as suggested by others. Looks like an old Rem700. I’d take it out of the stock and give the trigger a flush out also.

    Standard die tweaks for better results

    Another tip is to drill out the seater stem especially if you are using VLD type bullets. Most of the time the stem is too shallow and the bullet tip touches the stem. Drill it out so the stem seats off the Ogive of the bullet.

    Looking for a gunsmith/machinist who can modify a pic rail for me.

    Matte black will work fine. Mark it and use an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel if you don’t have access to a metal chop saw or bandsaw.
