I’m looking into buying a hunting rig. My current truck is 14 years old and just isn’t cutting it. I also can’t trust it to make the long drive out west. I’m looking at either the rubicon or Mojave trims. The only upgrades I’m considering are 35” tires and a winch. Any thoughts or feedback...
That looks good to me. I typically draw a 10” circle split into fourths. I want almost even counts in each quarter. shooting 9’s TSS I want a good majority of the pellets in the circle at 40 yards (2/3)
Wouldn’t the reduction of OTC hunts increase the value of points? after a few years you may see point creep slow, as more people get tired of fewer OTC and second choice tags and burn points more often
Thanks for the clarification, do any of you think further restrictions are likely in the next few years? my main goal is to open up other hunting opportunities.
I’m in the market for a great hunting muzzleloader, but am worried the hunting rules will just keep evolving. Take NM for example. They require open sights and prohibit smokeless powder for all hunts, but for deer they also prohibit inline ignition. I was looking at a paramount pro, but at...
Just put in my first WY application…first baby step to hunting out west. Praying for a random draw type 1 or at least the type 6 tag I’m counting on as my backup plan.
How much better is the paramount pro? I’m buying a .50 in order to be Colorado compliant but accuracy and range matter to me. Seems like you could get similar ballistics.
I‘ve decided to buy a muzzleloader but am confused by the various state hunting requirements. My focus is CO, WY, NM, and UT. My research is pointing to an inline setup as the best range and accuracy, but some states are picky about power and sabots. Do inline muzzleloaders use different...
I’m new to the game but am starting a multi state strategy. Ultimately I plan to go on a western hunt every year going forward, it just seems like it will take 3 years or more to get rolling. I‘m hoping to get lucky, but am considering DIY OTC CO archery or cow rifle hunt to break the ice...
Thank you for the responses. I just went through the CO license purchase process. It prompts you to enter your hunter education certificate # as Firearms, test50, or Bow. I guess I can just enter my SC hunter education number there? My state doesn’t require in person training.
I am planning my first out of state hunt and am confused by how I can satisfy the hunter education requirement. Several states appear to require in person firearm safety training. How does a nonresident meet the requirement? I live on the east coast. I am specifically interested in WY, CO, NM...
I’m from SC and planning my first Elk hunt next year. Picking units came down to season dates and access because I don’t really know what to expect. I snowboard in WV, and once in Utah. Am I over weighing the weather concern? looking At CO and WY. Montana’s later start worried me.
