Right, but did they say “hey I’m contacting you about paying for the items from the Rokslide classifieds?”
Or was it just a generic scammy looking message?
I get the generic scam messages from email addresses all the time. What I’m saying is, unless they made a direct reference to the items...
Is it a coincidence that you said you would buy something then got a scam message by chance the next day? Did they list the items you said you would buy?
I get those similar messages all the time.
Since we are all spitballing here and OP is definitely going to send it back, I’ll throw in a scenario just for fun.
What are the chances that it is chambered correctly in 280AI like a lot including OP seem to think, but they accidentally chambered a .277 barrel in 280AI instead of a .284? What...
For loaning the local PD an angle grinder or sawzall (whatever it was) that they needed to cut up guns that had been confiscated or surrendered?
Or is there more that I haven’t seen?
Party is ready to get started this year after archery is over.
Put together a .223 Wylde gas gun and a nice little 8 twist T3X Lite in .223 with a 16” barrel (lipseys exclusive maybe? Can’t find it on the tikka site) just came in the mail. Funny looking rifle with the 16” barrel
What cartridge?
Like someone else said, it’s very likely fine. But there’s an issue with your system, if your optic is moving enough that you can see the marks on the tube, from recoil, and you do not remember any significant impacts, something is not right. That is abnormal. At the very least...
Ditto.
I shot a decent sized whitetail doe (she was 135lbs with the guts and organs out) a couple years ago. I was sitting on the ground, she was 10 yards quartering-to. I WHALLOPED her in the onside shoulder with a .270 and a cheap Winchester “power point” or what have you, this was before I...
And the brass that you get for the 6.8, sucks.
I’ve loaded some for my dad that was once fired in the nickel plated stuff from browning that seems to be alright.
But he was super pumped to score a couple bags of brand new Winchester brass. We loaded 25 rounds to frig around with and look for...
My sizing process is all super small batches. Am I opening myself up to more inconsistency that way if my sizing die is getting setup multiple times? Probably, but I haven’t seen it matter, yet.
Unless it’s some range pickup stuff that I’m stockpiling that I’m not going to use any time soon...
You only need a new barrel if the smith (somehow) gaffs your factory barrel, which is very unlikely. Any halfway competent gunsmith should have no trouble fixing this issue. And as others said, quickly as well.
I took what form said as “even if they do mess it up, a takeoff barrel is $100”
You...
Seems like this thread is still alive and kicking, so may as well contribute.
Ive hardly shot a .30 cal (other than a 300BLK) in the last few years. All .223 and 6.5 creed with the occasional .270 (all mostly suppressed)
My dad got a somewhat beat up Rem700 tactical in the shop in .308 on a...
Personally, I’d rather not share a tent and pack my own for the reasons above as well as just liking my own private sleeping spot to myself.
I spent way too much time in the Marine Corps sharing a “2 man tent” with another sweaty, stinky dude after a few weeks without bathing in the field to...
I always carry a benchmade “utility” kind of knife with me (griptilian instead of Bugout but they’re one in the same)
But I have yet to find anything that needed cutting on a critter that the havalon couldn’t handle, and handle better.
Havalon (or similar) for all work on animals, benchmade...
My state has three categories, infant to 5 years old, 5 to 15 years old, then people 65+ from 65-70 the price goes down drastically, once you’re 70 a lifetime license is only $8 for hunting, fishing, and archery.
I’m turning 30 this year, for whatever reason my parents never got me mine when I...
