    Thoughts on the new Hoyt’s?

It’s slightly more solid to me which is likely due to two stops on the bottom. I tried a Bomar stop on my Spyder and it’s not that solid and not even close to a limb stop. Try shooting them rather than taking options off the internet, my more solid back wall might feel less so to you.

    Thoughts on the new Hoyt’s?

I shot the standard and Ultra RX1 and preferred the draw cycle of the Ultra much more so that’s what I went with. Pros are the draw cycle is similar to my 2014 Carbon Spyder, the back wall is more solid and the bow holds better on target than any bow I’ve owned. Cons are it’s noisier than my...

    Target for broad heads.

I shoot similar specs but have never had that much difficulty. Try arrow lube on the front 2” of shaft just behind the broadhead. I use Scorpion Venom. Broadheads and field points are much easier to pull from both my Rinehart and Matrix targets. Plus it keeps target material from building up on...

    Target for broad heads.

I had a Blob and it ruined a bunch of my arrows. The guys at Blob never returned my emails or phone calls regarding the issue. I’ll never own or shoot another Blob. I’ve heard there are two different companies making Blob targets but I’m not sure if that’s true nor would I risk it again since...

Ouch, That has to suck.... new Hoyt Redwerx Bow blows up Picture included in post

I wouldn't be surprised if the nock failed and broke. I've had that happen a lot with nocks for skinny arrows.

    New 2018 PSE Bow lineup

Back in the 1980’s when I first started there were 4 bow companies to my recollection; Hoyt, PSE, Martin and Bear. Quality was in that order. Back then Hoyt was high end I couldn’t afford so I bought PSE because Martin and Bear were crap. Since then I’ve owned equal amount of the Hoyt and PSE...

    2018 Hoyt - thoughts?

Oops, I just checked the B-Stinger site again and I see a quick disconnect with a 10 degree offset. That should work perfect if an angle is desired.

    2018 Hoyt - thoughts?

Since the rear stabilizer mount isn't angled we're likely going to have to buy an adapter that will allow the rear bar to be adjusted out and down to our desired angle. I can't find one that'll work on the B-Stinger site, anyone know of another company that makes one?

    2018 Hoyt - thoughts?

Great input, much better than the crap you have to read throuh over at AT.... Two Questions: 1) Can anyone confirm if the Last Chance Archery Easy Press without the adapters can be used to press the bow? 2) It's got a rear stabilizer mount built in. Is this angled and as anyone screwed a...

Maximum Effective Range, by Jared Bloomgren

I hang a plumb bob off a string attached to a house eve or something else that's 12' or more tall. Come to full draw, aim up at a steep angle, level my bubble then check to see of the wire down the center of my Spot Hogg sight housing is aligned with the string. If not I adjust the 3rd axle...

    Help Picking Arrow Spine

With the heavy 56 grain half out and a 125 grain point on the Rampage a 250 spine could be borderline at your long draw but it should work. I'd personally go to the Spartan and loose the half out in favor of a standard insert that'll be more durable and easier to align. I currently shoot X...

BH 8-10" right @ 50yds......Can they be tuned?

I always move my rest right when broadheads are hitting left of field points and if that doesn't work I move it left.

I'm not an expert on Kifaru packs but I do know this Bikini will fit all the current bags. An internet search should provide the differences between the two.

    Broadhead help

I know you said you have no fletch contact but I had very similar problem a few years ago. FBBH and field points hit right together out to 45 yards. At 50 the FBBH were 8" low and left and at 60 I couldn't keep them on the target. Turned out my bottom left fletch was just nicking the rest, fixed...

are stock black eagle inserts threaded?

Take the nock and point off and look down the inside of the shaft from the front. If you can see through the insertand down the inside of the shaft it's likely threaded all the way through.

Punching the release, but no target panic?

The appeal is if you're a type A as described above and like me and have/had target panic it's the only way to continue bow hunting. I nearly gave up after 2013 and started rifle hunting but I learned a surprise release and killed two sheep in 2014. The Stone at 80 and the Desert at 40. I found...

Punching the release, but no target panic?

A trigger release can be set off with back tension and not by moving your finger. What happens is you draw, anchor, put some pre-tension on the trigger and establish your sight picture. Once that's all done, start applying back tension. If done properly your wrist will relax slightly, the wrist...
