I have refrained from posting to this thread because I was afraid that I would fail and I didn't need/want it to be public.
Finishing highschool, I was about 190. Finishing college, I was about 200. I swore that I would never be 210. Fast forward 25 years, and at 51, I was 225+, and saw 230...
Seems like a legit complaint to me, but I guess its up to the Mods at this point in pressing the issue. I see no issue with you raising it as an issue.
I absolutely hate the heat. I split and burn wood all winter long for free heat to help me rationalize running the AC at subzero temps all summer long. I've vowed if I ever move again it will be far, far north.
As a followup and as posted in another thread, I've been messing with GRTools for the past few evenings, and I've learned a ton. I've been putting in loads from my Nosler and Lyman manuals and seeing how they come out, what the ladders do, and varying components (bullets, powder types, etc) and...
For grins and giggles I dropped your load into GRTools...
First blush without knowing case volume I get the attached. Shows a muzzle velocity of 2755 ft/s. Are you getting something along those lines?
Disclaimer: I am completely unqualified to comment on or try to solve your load issue...
Bowhunting and Trad may be mutually exclusive in the near term. If you want to hunt, go get a compound now - you could deer hunt this year. And as others have said, go buy a cheap, low draw weight recurve and get your form down. Maybe hunt with it next year.
I got a cheap glass/strain-gauge digital scale from (I think) costco several years ago. I think its branded weight watchers.
It is surprisingly good. Relatively, anywhere in normal human weight range, the relative accuracy is well within a few tenths, and very repeatable. It replaced an old...
I'm really just starting reloading too, and while I have several good manuals that go through the basics (Lymans especially), they all stop there. What I really want to understand is load development and more of the technical aspect of how to get a good load.
I get that you start low and load...
Man- I didn't know this and was just about to start using it (i've played with it a bit, but don't know it well). What a buzz kill. I can only imagine a bunch of Outside Mag socal crap getting ported into the interface. Not sure I want to put the effort into learning it well now...
I don't think the onus is on you to show them spots or actually take them hunting. I'd probably:
1) Have them over to show them equipment (guns, does, etc., depending on what they think they want to do)
2) Tell them to get in a hunter safety course and pass it.
3) Offer to help them on...
New to me - 2472 Seaark, with a full blind for ducks. Probably going to fab a bowfishing deck first. Have always wanted one of these with a removable, lightweight pilot house for year round use - so that may be in the works down the road.
Any duck/goose shells pr steel bb, bbb, or T shot to reload . Just bought a boat and a blind but only have about a box and a half of shells for the coming season...
