I'd probably contact Hornady with the lot number and ask some questions.
Me being me, I'd probably also sectioning with a mill file just to see for myself.
I've pushed sst's pretty fast and though they seemed to fragile for what I was doing, none came apart in flight.
It's definitely interesting, I've only had this happen shooting Hornady sx bullets and some blitz out of a .22-250 so in one case over-rotation and one over speed.
Neither seem possible in this scenario. Is it possible he has damaged the bore somehow during cleaning?
Well how's your understanding of the opposition?
Is the conversation what you expected?
Here in North Idaho the native Timberwolves are now gone. They were here until the "introduction" of the Canadian wolves.
The Mountain Caribou are now gone. They were here until they brought in the...
Wasn't going to chime in on the starting point as I think it's been covered.
But, I've purchased "blem" bullets from Midway that weren't labeled by mfg. But did have a sticker that included a Sierra part number. The bullets purchased as blems had a cannelure while the p/n available to reloaders...
People still want tags for Wyoming. The elk numbers have dropped in my part of Idaho by enough that this year I think I actually saw less NR plates. Up here we always see Apple Magot plates, year round, but far less Oregon and California plates from what I remember.
So much depends on how/where/what time of year.
I still use a Tenzing daypack for scouting. It's enough for the purpose, but as soon as weather becomes unpredictable and game meat will weigh too much to carry without a frame it's a poor choice.
Late season we carry so much more clothes and...
We (son and I) have gone through LGSs using both silencer central and silencer shop. Didn't seem to be much different to me.
We both bought OSS cans first, but my son has bought CGS cans lately. They seem more quiet than the HUXworks but definitely have more blowback if you want to swap it...
I have tried a light roll crimp on Woodliegh bullets with a crimping groove and for whatever reason they liked it. I used Sierra 250gr GK with IMR 4350, Fed 215s, no crimp, for a long time and could get overlapping groups.
I switched to Woodliegh WeldCore 250s because I got an absolute...
Did you track the velocity changes as you worked up?
A big jump in velocity for a small change in charge weight is where it gets dangerous as it represents a pressure change that is exponential to previous charge increases.
I've been loading for my .338WM for a long time and have not used...
