I'm wondering if someone can help me with a Sofirn headlamp. I am kind of leaning towards the sp40, sp40a and hs40. They are the same light with different lenses or leds and have that top strap which might be needed for the weight. Which one is the way to go? The other light that looks good is...
I have the Leupold on my 375 Ruger and I really like it. I can't compare it to the others mentioned but I can say that it has worked great for me so far. I bought the rifle and scope 7-8 years ago and it's the only rifle I carry now.
The weirdest one that I've made back in the starving student days was take a top ramen noodle square, the ones that come in the plastic packages for like 10 for a buck, and they will break in half thin ways. They are folded in half when made. Think pulling two frozen pieces of bread apart. Then...
I own a bunch of different sharpeners myself, including the work sharp, spiderco, original lanskey, several stones etc. They all work and some better at different things. I bought an Edge Pro Apex sharpener 5-6 years ago and I really love it. Since I like high carbide blades, I have some...
Several years ago I was having trouble keeping an edge on my 5 or 6 high carbide blades. I could get then sharp but it seemed to dull easy. I started reading on one of the blade forums and learned what was going on. The Readers Digest version is that I was getting the "other" steel sharp but not...
Man, I sure love fall colors (^^^). I wanted to thank you guys for the NRS pull strap idea. I just installed 3 on my pack last night. I wrapped the webbing around the tube and melted a hole with a hot nail then used #10 stainless screws so it goes through the webbing on both sides of the tube...
I like the looks of those bat wings! We have only ever used string wrapped around pins. Use a LOT of string so the quarters don't shift or move around. I tried the bags and they aren't big enough for all of the pieces and the pack weighs more.
I really enjoy the early spring bears we shoot in Prince William Sound. I was with a buddy that shot one later in the year, late August if I remember correctly, and it was pretty nasty. You know that smell when the tide is down and the beach is covered with dead pinks? That is exactly what that...
Can the hood be modified? I have changed a lot of gear to make it better for me. We do most things ourselves and for the more advanced changes, I've taken it to a tailor and it has always been reasonable.
What did you say? I couldn't hear ya! haha I don't have an AR and not sure if that is the platform for your 300 blackout, but I imagine that caliber being perfect for a suppressor.
I sure like the idea of having a suppressor, not blowing your ears out. I wish it was a little easier to get them, of course I don't have a rifle with a threaded barrel. Your setup sounds great for a bait station!
I just talked with a FedEx person about shipping to the lower 48 and we can only ship out air and the Hazardous Material fee was 130 plus the freight. So hopefully somebody up here will be interested.
I haven't but it sounds interesting. I guess I need to do a little research on it. Before I dive into that rabbit hole, do I need anything special besides my pressure canner? It seems that it would be great for salmon. Take up less room and not have to store a bunch of empty jars.
After a quick...
We had a family friend pass away and I am selling some powder and primers for his widow. We are not interested in any trades at this time. I will update the quantities as often as I am able. We are going to stay firm on the prices for now. I am just trying to help her out and be as fair as I can...
Sounds like a fun camp meal! I want to try some moose and bear. Black bear is so mild and moist, I think it would do great canned. Fish Camp is a common term up here, I'm not sure I've ever heard it used before in the lower 48. Bonus points! haha
I made a couple meals and canned them for our rv trip and it came out great. I guess it's called a hot pack when you add it to the jars hot. I want to try a couple of just meat packs next time too. It was a lot of work when you cook the dish and then can it afterwards. Not hard but time...
