    Not so hot....

Under Armor for me. After 1/2 a day in that stuff, it smells like I haven't bathed for a month. Gave all of it to my brother. I only kept an orange UA branded ball hat. Wish I had that money back.

Clarktar, I'm not sure as I've never tried it. My wife has the 6qt Kitchen Aid mixer that is now 15 years old. She uses that thing every week. I personally think it would work with small batches. I typically mix 25# of meat per batch, and could split that in half with the LEM tub mixer. As...

My LEM mixer also has some slop that allows the dasher to float a little. It is adjustable, but periodically the dasher well smack the stationary wings that are welded to the tub. That is another downfall to that mixer in my opinion. Some of my mixes are pretty sticky, especially snack...

I finally broke a blade off of my mixer. I've always thought it was a little flimsy. So now I'm trying to decide if I'm going to TIG weld the blade back on and try and reinforce all of them with gussets or look for a replacement. I would like to see pictures of your drill drive set up as...

I'm with camping1601. I buy premixed from waltons. I can tell you that it is a little strong on the fennel though, but that could be be due to the spices being fresher. Nonetheless We like it. I've only used the mild as the boys aren't fans of spicy sausage. Unless you just enjoy creating your...

    Saw for butchering

The 22" Weston would work fine imo. I have a 12" saw that dates into the early 1900's in my family and it works fine for deer. It's purpose was for splitting halves. I can tell you that it is way too short for rib racks though. I've just been to tight to buy another and stubborn to retire it...

    Whats your name boy?

Brian Rogers = Roy68 Went to a small school and had 3 Ryan's in my class, another Ryan a year older. My brother and I were in HS at the same time, so a coach yelling my last name didn't work and my first name sounded to much like Ryan; confusing a group of athletes. One of my classmates...

    22-300 aye

It is an eye piece for sure. The name 22-300 AYE immediately made me think of the P.O. Ackley's .22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer & 17 Flintstone Super Eyebunger. Even if they fell a few 100fps short of the magic 5000fps; the names of the rounds are record setting in my opinion.

I purchase a lot of my consumables from Walton's Inc, and I've used several of their spice mixes. I have never used the Pepporoni seasoning. Pepperoni Unit Seasoning from Excalibur Seasoning Walton's main business is working with commercial businesses/processors. I cannot say enough good...

How warm is the FL sanctuary?

I have the bibs & jacket. They are an absolute oven if you try to walk in them. I pack them until I'm stationary. My Kansas rifle deer hunt this year was 10 straight days of hunting. There were 2 days in the negative teens windchill. I was hunting a specific buck, and I sat on the ground...

    Brush Busting Pants?

I have no experience with them; Duluth trading company has a pant they claim to dial those things you list and yet can withstand an angry beaver.

    My first triple

Nicely done. I've pulled 2 doubles in the last 5 years. Three weeks ago I was deer hunting and always carry a mouth call with me. Right before dusk I dug it out and had 3 come in at the very same time. I shot the first at 35yds, missed the second at 175, stopped the 3rd at 402 and piled him...

Clarktar , I had look to verify the size. I have 3 plates with 4.5mm being the smallest. Burger goes through it. The 1/4" plate is used for coarser bulk sausage. I'm going to get a 3mm plate for snack sticks and the like to improve the texture on those as someone else suggested.

Regarding the rinsing of salt I was referring to the natural casings that you can buy on a straw to facilitate easy loading on to the stuffing horn. I have no idea how you would rinse the salt from those. Especially the inside. Only used the 100% US casings as well. Thanks for the tip on...

If I'm adding fat then I grind the fat separately. If you try to add it as you did the blend is inconsistent. I have a meat mixer that I use to blend the ground meat and fat together then. The meat mixer is not necessary and doing it by hand works just fine. I run our burger through a 1/4" plate.
