    Mhopper5, earth frequency does not bother it. Wind bothers it. That tripod is meant to be minimalist and about as lightweight as you can get. The scope works fine on any type of tripod. So you are not stuck with skinney legged tripods. Fatrascal

    Here is a picture of the Kowa 55 beside the Swarovski atx 65. Judging from tdhanses photo I would say that the Kowa 77 is about the same as the Swaro 65. So as far as taking up space it does a pretty good job of being compact. Fatrascal
