Before anything sorry for such a long story but this is the story of 4 different deer over this last month.
After not being successful during elk me and some buddies planned a group deer hunt. We all were trying to get our friend his first deer. After hunting for 2.5 days without being able to...
Thank you everyone for the responses and all the dads responding it’s all very helpful. I will certainly talk to him and if he’s ok with it surprise him with a tag next year. He does call for me occasionally as he’s gotten better.
He has no problem with killing anything. I should've added we have rabbit hunted in Nevada, and he has done dove and duck hunts before. I will certainly talk to him about it more and see if he is hesitant to actually killing something but he has hunted before just never big game. That's my bad...
Hey everyone I'm having a bit of a dilemma on what to do with my semi-stubborn father that is the absolute best. Let me first give some background. Me my little brother and dad have picked up hunting the last 3 years. The first year we lived in Nevada and me and my little brother both got deer...
So many variables in this one. This year I spotted a decent 3x3 from 2.5 miles away while he was walking over a ridge top and was sky lined. We ended up making a play on that guy and my buddy harvested it. This buck was crossing over a ridge top in the snow and with the sun shining just...
How did this hunt turn out? Any luck? I met a guy with that tag as well at the Wendy's down in Mountain Home and he pulled out a 24" tall 4x5 if I remember correctly! Great tag hope to hear back from you
Got 3 down 2 weekends ago with 1 day left in the season! Harvested the buck on the right Friday midday after jumping him out of his bed that we were stalking him from.(That’s My buddies buck). Then Sunday morning spotted the middle buck skylined a mile away and booked it over to him and was able...
Whatever you have is obviously better than nothing however those rounds have wondeful reviews I’d give them a shot if I were you and I’d certainly feel comfortable with them as a secondary
Get in shape and make the pack out on your back or like someone else said be extra nice to the cowboys watching the cattle in your area if there is any and they might just maybe will be willing to help you out.
I recently got a Mathews Vertix with the switchweight mods and was reading about the modules and have noticed that many people report the modules shoot 3-4 pounds heavier than advertised. I’m not worried about shooting too heavy and obviously you can adjust the limb screw but I was just...
I am shooting 65 pounds at 27” and will be shooting 340 spine Easton Axis 5mm with no collar but this is for my dad who is shooting 72 pounds at 29”. He’s not very tech friendly so I’m asking on his behalf.
I’ve decided to run the Goldtip Ballistic Collar on my Easton Axis 5mm shafts. Everything is compatible however I don’t know what size would be the correct size for 300 spine arrows. On GT website when ordering the collar you pick what spine you are shooting and that correlates to an outer...
Thanks a lot of people say the gold tips are also great and I wouldn’t mind shooting a heavier arrow but I live out west and get to hunt elk every year and almost everyone I know shoots below 550 grains but I’ll tinker around with some heavier arrows as well!
