Growing up in upstate rural NY it is quite common for folks to have hunting camps where different family generations and friends gather to hunt, tell stories, etc.
Is this a “thing” in other parts of the country?

I’m a big fan of 270 win for all types of big game… I have shot 150 grain for the last 4 years, but am switching back to 130 grain this year for lighter skin animals… I found the 130 grain accubond shot very consistent out of our families 270’s
Eberlestock gunrunner I think it’s less than $200. Holds a rifle and great day pack. I have used it for whitetail, lodge elk hunt, and lots of coon hunting with hounds.

I did quite a bit of hiking when I went to Newfoundland….. rut was over and it was last week of October… I would bring a light rifle for sure. It was pretty rough walking where I was. I Shot mine with a .270 win
