A physical hunting camp with a dedicated cabin is Not as common out west as in the Northeast. Very common for family groups to hunt together, and set up a camp for the family At or near the same location every year.

Tug Hill, the snow capital of the northeast! I lived in Syracuse for 6 years and spend a lot of time fishing up that way. My family has had a hunting camp in upstate NY for as long as I can remember. Good times for sure. My dad and Uncles will be going on 7 straight years hunting various western states with me so I get my fix of hunting with them but sure miss the cabin during NY deer season.

Oh man, but Buffalo can be so unpredictable. Totally depends on when the lake freezes. Tug Hill and the eastern half of Ontario is consistently snowy. I have a Syracuse bias though😜

I avoid syracuse and immediate area as much as possible when we are in ny in our annual trip for deer season

My family has a camp/cabin in Northern Michigan. Built in 1977 and has been hunted by 10-25 guys a year on rifle opener ever since. Big bucks are rare but it is still the best place in the world to be.

My hunting camp in the Allegheny National Forest of Northwest PA is the one of the greatest investments i've ever made. its only been 10 years of ownership, but sharing it with family and friends we have made some great memories with very successful hunts over that short period.
I have a camp that’s now mine in the anf near the kinzua reservoir. Been in the family since the 60’s. My grandfather and his buddies started, now it’s me and my friends up there.
Great times.

Here in Indiana hunting camps aren't common but we have land in the UP of Michigan and they're pretty common up there. I grew up in Wisconsin and they're popular there as well. I remember our school closing one year for the opening week of firearm season because not enough kids would be attending and were hunting with their families instead. Aaaahhh the good old days.

I know it happens in other parts of the country, but the whole hunting camp culture is very much a New England / Northeast thing.

My family had one in a tiny town called Bovina outside of Margretville NY in the Catskill Mountains.
