Looking for a 30-40lb compound that can take a 30.5 inch draw. I also have a Prime Black 5 that I could put the 30-40lb limbs on. Having shoulder surgery and am going to need a rehab bow to use to build up to a hunting weight.
I believe it is being left alone. Surgeon did not bring it up during our discussion. Most of the damage appeared to be on the front of the shoulder so I am guessing the part where the bicep tendon attaches was fine?
Check out the HammockGear.com Wanderlust kit.
I have used it on a couple hunts and down to 20 degrees and it did great. Weighs around 5ish pounds for everything.
I am not shooting anything right now. That bow is for post op or post PT shooting (whenever released). I have stopped everything I was doing. The shoulder is being totally babied.
Follow up is Tuesday. My MRI was on a Friday and the doc was out of the office that afternoon and in surgery...
Definitely taking this one slow. I disconnected my patellar tendon by deadlifting too soon after a tibial transfer. Not a good time.
Planning on putting 40lb limbs backed down with cables untwisted on my Black 5 for rehab shooting. Going to stick with that until PT says otherwise. Not willing...
I am really hoping to avoid rotator cuff injuries, however I have pain right wear that runs so I am not too optimistic. They are already concerned that the bicep attachment has been partially torn so I am babying it. I am pretty much decided to be a spectator until I get the MRI read (going...
The appointment I had planned to schedule 3 weeks out happened today. Ended up being able to slip in.
Initial diagnosis is a SLAP Tear. Likely will require surgery. Having an MRI to confirm. Anyone have any experience with this procedure?
Another .166 option that may be better than Deep Six is the Day Six components. A lot of the time you can look at the OD of their shafts, find the matching one for your shaft, and then choose the corresponding outsert system. That will give you most flexibility.
OnX support rocks.
I work in IT so I have half a dozen tablets in my office. I have OnX on several non cellular devices and I can download the maps and they work fine. Used an iPad in ariplane mode this past elk season for bascamp mapping.
Absolutely. I am 99% we both agree that tuning is 100% the most important factor.
I err on the side of shorter arrows becuase I can (usually) tune around it and they work better for my goals. Just what works for me. Personal preference and everyone should test their stuff. If it won't tune do...
My girlfriend has shot that exact bow with a 400 spine cut to 26.5 with 175 up front. It is bareshafted to 30. If it will tune run it. I prefer my weight up front as I can splurge on components. I would rather have another 20 grains worth of FPS or 20 grains worth of head material than extra...
My girlfriend has the same specs as you. Her TAW is 420ish grains and she uses Iron Will heads.
I would also cut the arrow as short as possible. A 400 spine cut to 26 or 26.5 inches should be good. Stiffer will not hurt you but does result in a heavier arrows due to increased GPI.
IMO a good...
