I may be interested in the vx2 if you decide to move it, let me know.
I got away from Nikon as soon as they got out of the scope business. They will still give you credit towards a new purchase but it won’t be a scope.
Not sure there’s any reason to be hung up on 150’s, Barnes loads 130 ttsx’s and they absolutely hit like lightning. I tried the 150’s first but my rifle didn’t like them as well
Not voting with the RS contingent.
Depending on the cartridge, if I was dropping $2,500 right now I’d consider the new 700 alpha, Mark V backcountry, or fall back on a model 70 all weather.
Depends on the type of bullets you’re shooting.
I’ve never had trouble with traditional cup & core/bonded bullets but if you’re trying monos they can be particular about the barrel being fouled with something other than what they’re made of.
I can’t imagine regretting picking up the companions, especially for timber like you’re talking about. I would definitely give the SFL’s a look, also hit your compact light weight goal.
I will say if you want to save some money and test out some compacts that I’ve been super impressed with...
I’ve traditionally been a Glock guy but picked up a macro the first time I handled one. Never shot something that size that well, the 43x is a solid gun but takes some upgrading to get to the Sig’s factory options.
I’m also primarily a southern hunter, it’s probably not going to make sense to go past 10’s if you want to be versatile. Most guys can’t handhold 12’s and get much out of them anyway. Personally I like 8’s
I’ve had good luck with Mavens but if I had the room the the budget I’d be shopping for...
I like the mono pod trigger stick in a stand but if I’m the ground I want a bipod. I’m not against a tripod if I was in a blind or something but otherwise I don’t want to have another leg to adjust. As above I have a Spartan with the long pro legs, I like it so far.
That’s a heck of a pick up! I also have the first version and once I had a sheath made for it I haven’t carried anything else. Definitely would’ve picked up a backup for that price tho
I like specific just because it’s more likely to be used for the intended purpose, especially if you know what they are planning to buy. You aren’t using a stone glacier or exo card at Walmart to pick up groceries
I think it depends on how you’re using the case. The vehicle attachment is awesome, it’s the reason I went that route vs the marsupial or t&k. Plus being designed to fit in a pelican if you fly with it is a nice bonus.
If you just want a case to throw in the floor or seat on the way to a...
I voted two guns but for me it would depend on your actual hunting situation. A two gun battery seems like a great option if done correctly, something on the low end that’s easy and cheap to shoot (243, 6 cm, 7-08) and something that packs more punch on the other end if the hunt calls for it...
I would tend to agree with the 6cm but I’m just not seeing it chambered in a ton of “traditional” hunting rifles yet. Once it steps up a little bit in popularity and support I may consider it over a 243 but not yet.
Since you have the high end covered I’d go 6.5 cm, no reason for the extra...
I’m not sure I know of a public servant position (police, fire, ems, teachers, etc) that are overpaid. These people are key for society to function and should be treated as such. Sure, there are people that end up in those positions that absolutely should not be there and they should be...
