I wish we had a decent shop near me. It always seemed the work was half assed and the knowledge sub par. That lead me to learning to do all of my bow work on my own and self critiquing my form etc from video. I’m jealous of y’all with quality help near
I shoot an elite impulse 31 @ 29.5”DL at 70 pounds. 500 grain arrows run 280fps (through a chrono).
I shoot black eagle rampages (300spine) cut 28.5” carbon to carbon. Easton HIT inserts with gold tip kinetic collars. I run 150gr-175gr heads depending on my application. I 4 fletch q2i fusion...
If your form isn’t correct, you’ll chase circles paper tuning and bare shaft tuning. Make sure you really focus on form during that process.
In my experience, If your bow is tuned and you are paper tuned and bare shaft tuned, your arrow probably isn’t under spined if you are having inconsistent...
I was able to run them out of my 343 IBO bow @ 29.5” and 70# with a 300 spine arrow. I found that ANY form failures on my part decreased accuracy. They would fly fine on the range (I was shooting groups at 90yds) but awkward field shooting positions amplified my mistakes. I would make sure...
I think you’ll be surprised what the .300 will do. My rampages are 28.25”. I shoot a 343 IBO bow at 29.5” and 70 pounds. I can run up to 275gr total weight up front before I have spine breakdown. 228gr up front tuned the best for me. I shoot 4 fletch (30gr) with a lighted nock (20gr) and wrap...
So I read Mark’s book on Starting Strength. He recommends 3500-6000 calories with a gallon of milk/day for his program. Is that necessary? I understand a goal of ~180grams protein/ day but that’s only ~720 calories. is there a better macro goal I should be shooting for? The last thing I want to...
A well tuned bow, well built arrows, and consistent training are far more important than the price of the equipment. There’s nothing wrong with spending more money for higher quality equipment, but it is not absolutely necessary
