Looking like a much better winter for moose survival than last year!! Hopefully we can string a few mild winters together and see the numbers come up!!

Worth a look, made by the folks that manufacture the Arctic Oven tents. I have had mine for years and have zero regrets. It goes easily into boat or plane.
Put in for DG 474 last year for the first time ever & pulled the tag.
Results are in my avatar pic.
Agree that registration hunt offers good opportunity as well.
5 port muscle brake on 300 wby results in minimally perceived recoil and markedly improved consistency. May be worth looking at their smaller offerings for 6.5. It made my wby enjoyable and worth keeping…
I think that it is 1800 sq ft
3 bedroom 1 bath
2000 gallon cistern from roof supply
Battery system with solar & generator supply
Propane water heater & refrigerator
Outbuilding for generator & ATV, storage
Mooring for boat, run line for skiff

I guess since my cabin is in unit 6 I may as well put it up for sale…
Appreciate the thread reminding me that I need the locking tag for unit 6!! Living & hunting the interior and not needing the tag made me completely forget that there are still units that require the locking tag.
Draw results in less than a week!!!
Will do PWS unit 6 for both black & brown in May that is cabin and boat based.
Sun is coming back, starting to get excited for spring hunts!!
A bit of practice can smooth that out.
In my opinion safest mode to have a round in the chamber.
Least safe in my personal experience would be semi auto with a round in the chamber.
Again, discussing my thoughts on back up gun for brown bear.
Really fond of having a compact lever gun in this situation.
Easy to deploy & gain target with open sight in close contact.
I have never had my lever jam, and can cycle reasonably well in my own opinion.
Have four rounds counting the round in the chamber. Round in the chamber is safe with...
Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth…
The ramifications of a wounded bear are vastly different than a wounded ungulate. You may get a bang flop but what is your plan if that is not the reality of your encounter???
100 % agree with LoggerDan which prompted my concern on the...
Everyone plots their own course in life depending on their interests and ability.
My belief is that if you are trying to attain a secondary education then you should position yourself to make that a reality. Your son is now making the investments in himself to live the life that brings him the...
Have only had BT from Kodiak, and now is a freezer staple for the past 5 years. Really fantastic, you know if is wild game but is in no way gamey. Utilize burger, roasts, stew, and steak all great!
Have had tacos & stir fry within the last week…
Have had moose as a freezer staple for 20+...
Yes, general hunting, ungulates primarily, would like to shoot more with a factory round that is more readily available.
I don’t have a 6.5, which would fit in that category.
Realistic range to 500 yds.
Functional is always my greatest concern. Hunting would be the application in which the rifle would be utilized. The stock is a more difficult call as I really don’t have any options to get it in my hands prior to purchase in AK…
Appreciate the insight 👍
