I think I am going to try those cuts as soon and I can decide how to fixture and tool it up in my mill. I'll probably take the full face cut like the Defiance and put ALL the information there (Serial stays as is then Kimber 84M Troy, AL) so if it is re-barreled it wouldn't need to be put on the...
So all of our Kimbers are illegal then as they have the information out on the barrel? Official model, Name, City and State are ONLY on the barrel. Receiver has serial number and the Kimber 84M artwork. There were some changes along with the August 24, 2022 publication. Designs prior to that may...
That official information is out on the barrel on the Kimbers. The marking there is cosmetic but could certainly be re marked on the machined surface just like if you re-barrel and change from say 308 to 243. The new information is put on the barrel. Serials are more touchy. Remarking a serial...
So my Defiance CRF/3-position safety action showed up. Was supposed to be for an R&D project then sold but they stopped production on this model (at least for now) and jacked up all the prices a huge amount so I think it is going to be staying as a 7mm PRC. Still debating between the 7mm PRC and...
Weights of several Kimber 84m bolts w/extractors and handles oz/grams listed:
Uncoated short extractor factory handle 9.28oz/263.1g & 9.28oz/263.1g two weighed
Coated (Ducks Unlimited versions - coated at the lug area and back where the handle and safety attach but not the middle)...
I have been looking at the Banish Backcountry. Numbers are impressive for a mountain rifle and have heard good things about them. Depending on what they are weighing and measuring it looks to be lighter/shorter than the TBAC7. I'd like to be able to use it across my quiver of rifles.
The WSM and all magnums are on the 8400 action which is more full REM 700 size and weight. I have a 8400 short and long Montana here destined to be 6.5 and 7mm PRC respectively. Also no gel to pull from a Montana stock. I'll try and get photos next to a 84m for reference when I get a chance.
If you are worried about the Cerakote weight but want to do it, use Cerakote Elite. It's tougher/better in most ways and goes on thinner, hence lighter. We are setting up to do Cerakoting here and I am going to bring in some elite to try. You can't do multiple colors/designs with it as it won't...
I miss read that last night - apologies. Read this - especially the part at the end. Kimbers don't have the "bump" so maybe they would consider doing it? My CNC knee mill could theoretically do the fluting but I don't think it's worth all the fixtures/rotary head. The main hiccups are the fixed...
I bought one from the guy on this thread and it it nice, It is on the rifle I have posted here before. I need to grab some more for a couple of other rifles I have picked up. Mine is just the regular Ti-84 with hollow end but not fluted. Regular is Ti one is $50 and Ascent $75...
I would be careful fluting the bolt on a CRF like the Kimber. The extractor can ride on the flutes and you may feel it cycling the action in addition to riding over rounds in the magazine. Not saying don't do it necessarily, just make sure you go in with both eyes open. Here is a writeup with...
This one mitigates the spin for optics only. The Gen 2 Davros Pro has some tension adjustment which would be nice for fine tuning the ball.

Did you ever get your questions on this answered? Just did a search and this thread popped up. I have the Davros Pro and love it. The just announced a Gen 2 which I will now need to get...
Has anyone gotten Qi/wireless charging to work with the plate attached to phone or does it kill it for sure? Samsung S22 if that matters. I really love my wireless charging and want to be able to go back and forth from normal routine to the scope.
I may be able to get a 3d scan for you. Might be a minute but hopefully. 🤞🏼
We did a scan of my bottom metal then printed it and bolted it up. Was pretty cool to see that happen. This is the printed bottom "metal". Didn't totally clean it up just a test case anyway. Working towards lightweight...
Mine tends to walk/string impacts just slightly side to side until I get the front screw over 50 in/lbs. I set the rear a little bit less than the front.
