Anybody have any experience or opinions on the Springfield xdm?
I handled one at the store today and it didn’t feel too bad. The trigger definitely felt better than the g20.
The best boot I have found for hiking/hunting was the cabelas bonesneaker wading boot. They were lightweight and had more ankle support than any other wader boot I've found. I have a pair I still use but, they are strictly for my moose hunts. I'm a big simms fan and use their waders, boots, and...
Looking at purchasing a 10mm sometime soon, but having a hard time deciding on which pistol to buy. I'll admit, I'm not a pistol guy and don't know much about them other than how to safely use and operate them. When it comes to models, specs, capabilities, quality, etc, I know nothing.
I was...
Kill. I hunt for a number of reasons and meat being one of them. Sure, does and cows taste just as good, but there is a reason there are a lot less female tags out there. Simple herd dynamic biology, if we killed nothing but females for meat, everything would be extinct.
Ban Non-resident hunters…
Ban hound hunters…
Ban spring bear season…
Ban anyone with a camera…
All you commies are gonna be whining one day when you’re the one that’s being banned.
It’s pretty easy to tell what is skin and what is hair. They’re different colors.
Judging by their chaps IMO can be deceiving, especially if they’ve been using areas with thicker brush or if they’ve been feeding from their knees a lot and not standing.
Unless you hunt them all the time or see...
I think a lot of it depends on whether the bears are hunted or not. YNP area, those bears smell anything odd with human scent, it means food. Most areas in AK, bears smell something odd with human scent, it very well could mean trouble for them.
I've used a bear fence probably 50% of my time up...
Does anybody know when harvest info comes out? Seems like its running late this year or it could just be me being anxious.
For discussion sake, what would the consensus be if harvest numbers are higher in '22 than '21? Does anybody think this is just a normal valley in the cyclical population...
This is where I’m at with it. They have now effectively removed all the restraints on predators for sheep.
I wonder what it would look like if they took away the guide requirement for grizzly bears in sheep units?
But but but there’s lots of stuff I use public land for. How dare you be like that just cause you can’t run a bullet or hook through it.
Well said! My exact thoughts on all of it.
I think your frustration is directed in the wrong direction. IIRC the guide requirement was implemented and pushed by the Alaska Professional Hunter Association not residents. Very same thing with WY and a non-resident hunting wilderness, pushed by guides.
I never claimed it was "Federal Hunting Land". Just because the majority of usage on a piece of public is hiking or camping doesn't make it Federal camping Land. My point is that there are lots of public that the sole recreational usage it sees is hunting because it isn't deemed interesting or...
Respectfully disagree on this. The availability of public lands or not has ZERO to do with opportunities. Anyone can hunt/fish private land if they choose. The BIGGEST threat to hunting and fishing opportunities is the slow and steady erosion of things like not allowing baiting, not allowing...
So you don't go to pieces of public land that have any sort of draw to them at all? You're consistently going to the public parcels that only see grazing, hunting, and/or fishing as their sole use, strictly to camp and hike? The argument of "I use public lands for way more than just hunting" is...
