There are an average of 11 bear attacks in the USA each year, with 1/2 of those being fatal. Given that, I am stupefied as to how much of our (outdoors types) conversation revolves around protecting ourselves from them. Here's an idea. I am assuming that the members here drive like the...
A word of caution on these scopes for anyone considering buying one. The power ring is deceptively large. The throw knob is fixed and larger than it needs to be. If your rifle has a 90 degree bolt throw and a straight bolt handle, think Christensen Mesa here, you are going to have clearance...
I am very particular about eye box and eye relief. I have two of these scopes. When I shoulder the rifles everything falls into place very comfortable and intuitively and eye relief is very good. It doesn't quite measure up to Leupold in this respect, but they are better than adequate.

This Meopta will fit just fine, and it has better glass then the Optika 5. Cameraland's Demos are essentially new. They have simply been out of the box in many cases. This one is said to have slight ring marks. Cameraland will stand behind the product. They are as good as it gets...
A word of caution. That Ridge rifle has a 90 degree bolt throw AND a large bolt knob. The Credo and the Optika 5 both have large power rings. The location and size of the throw knob on the Credo are a design flaw when it comes to 90 degree throw bolts.
People make this more confusing than it is. Meopta does not make an Optika 5 "rimfire" model. They make one that has adjustable parallax and one without adjustable parallax. The one with adjustable parallax is often called a "rimfire" scope, because rimfire shooters often want that feature...
