I have a 19 and no complaints, but if they want to trade me for a 22 I would not complain.
After some research looks like there may be some truth to it,

I have the 99S and at the time I received it KOWA had not released a SOC for them so I wrapped the scope in Vet wrap. It protects the scope very well. KOWA has since released the new style SOC for the 99S but I prefer the old style SOC so I think for right now the vet tape will stay on. I also...
When in Montana I use my binos to spot the does then start the real search with the spotting scope. Because in late November you want to be in your scope as soon as it gets light to try and find those big ones in their bed. Or during the mid-day when they are taking their nap. You need something...
So I up graded to the KOWA 99S after somebody borrowed my 884 out of my pickup. I carried the 884 in a Kifaru spotting scope pocket but the 99S is to long for the Kifaru. So after searching the internet I found the Eberlestock batwing. It is long enough to hold the 99S. But the only way to carry...
When I had my so called 8-5 jobs after getting out of farming I would tell my employers during the interview that my family comes first and when I want or need to do something with and for them I will. If that is going to be a problem with working for you I need to know now so as not to waste...

I can tell you this last thanksgiving week I was hunting in central MT. Had our 10x14 floored wall tent setup and the wind blew hard a couple nights. Had my pickup blocking the wind. The last night we were there the wind blew so hard that it was coming in under the pickup and I was sleeping on a...
Never looked through an Athalon, but I have owned a gen 1 80 razor, 88 KOWA, and now a 99 KOWA. The glass is far superior in the KOWA's than the Razors. And you are correct, if those are the only choices then I still chose the 66 KOWA.
I regularly hike about 10-12 miles a day in mine during Montana hunting season. I have never noticed the weight part of it. Just the fact that I can keep warm.
Woolimate is awesome stuff. I don't know if you can still get the good Cabelas stuff anymore off the rack, but that is my go to when the temps go below zero. Good insulation and wind blockage. The only other I would recommend is the Cabelas Whitetail line, it also works well in the below...
RSather has it right. You get 3 or 4 adapters ( Don't remember right now without digging through my stuff), they are not that big of deal changing. Unscrew the collar and pull the compression ring out and replace it with the one you are changing to.
