$8k a month take home? Anyone who can’t live on that and hunt their ass off needs to reevaluate their spending. The plan looks great to me. I’m hoping to go when I hit 20 years but I’ll be bringing home less than 1/2 of that. Ill have to get a second job but at least I won’t be wearing a duty...
That’s what I said from the beginning. I can’t believe people actually thought it was going to be a fight.
Tyson is a 58 year old man. He’s not going to get in the ring for a full blown fight with a juiced up 28 year old. We saw how slow and old he looked in the Roy Jones Jr fight. This was...
I think some of the deep “thinkers” in this thread need to get out and shoot some animals. If the evidence already presented isn’t convincing to you, then there’s nothing anyone can say here to change your mind.
30-06 Precision Hunter vs 6.5 PRC Precision Hunter is only $3 difference per box. That’s basically nothing to me. PRC ammo is easily available online and at any big store. 6.5 Creedmoor ammo is even cheaper. You mentioned using “hunting grade” ammo. I don’t see the point of buying a nice rifle...
I like to hunt pinch points in thicker brush. Also look for ridges with acorns falling. Go out after it rains and look for tracks. Walk creek bottoms and look for crossings. Look for different colored stands of trees or vegetation transitions on google earth, then walk those.
I don’t know...
Rubber is 100% wind proof. You won’t find any kind of rubber with an extra wind proof layer. The surface of the rubber just gets colder than other fabrics when it’s windy and wet.
The whole thing is just silly to me. They stack rifle and ML hunts the same time as archery but want to enforce an orange requirement that only applies to a small portion of the people in the field. Giving a warning to someone who is basically hiking is an overreach.
There’s infinite different combinations of rifles, calibers, brake design, so yeah, different things work better than others.
Can you provide evidence that a braked rifle causes more head trauma than a kid getting hammered by the recoil of an unbraked rifle? You can’t because it doesn’t exist...
Your links are to an article that says shooting an ar in an enclosed building and shooting a 50bmg are bad, and a forum thread where a bunch of guys say shooting a braked 50bmg is bad…..pretty sure we all knew that?
My son’s rifle doesn’t have a brake so I’m not emotionally involved like a lot of the people here seem to be.
#1 you’re overstating the muzzle blast issue a lot. If you would just go shoot in the mountains instead of a public range under a metal roof, you’d see that a good brake doesn’t really...
Tickets for hunting with fmj ammo or field points are surprisingly common. I haven’t seen any minimum caliber tickets but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Unless you are being a total fool or doing some special hunt (like bison or mtn goat in a park) it would generally be seen as a total...
I sure would like to try one for a season. I can see why people like them. I’ve weighed the cost/benefit a bunch of times and it’s still not worth it for me to buy one.
Costs: weight, rifle balance, barrel length or loss in performance, $$$$, can’t try before you buy, difficult to resell if I...
Cash with a note to buy something nice then show you what you bought him.
Seriously, I don’t want my wife spending money on stuff she knows nothing about and I am super particular about.
